2600 here... sounds petty but 200 to 400 a week adds up in the long run

I hear you, I think it's been picking up for me lately, but I doubt I'm going to end up where I was last year.

Rumors swirling around the campfire all our debts will be neutralized and there will be reparations for all victimized by the globalists wrongfully federally taxing us to death... ill believe it when I see it also there's a bill proposed and sent to senate to change trucker or fmcsa labor laws giving us OT after 40 so I'm thinking no more 70/8 but maybe 60/7 workweek they'll screw us one way or another where's our #### inflation raise across the board!

Idk how that'd work for otr, we're already woefully underpaid. The milage pay is a scam. We're responsible for that truck, trailer, and whatever might be hauled 24/7. My ideal would be a daily rate supplemented by milage pay. Like $300/day you're out and 25cpm for example so you still want to be driving but aren't completely effed if you sit for a day. Honestly best way to not take it up the exhaust port from these companies is organize and unionize, but lol not holding my breath.

If any company I work for went union I would return the truck and walk home if I had to...unions are the best way to screw up the industry worse than it already is. I would rather panhandle at the end of an interstate ramp than be part of any crybaby union!!!

I've had that opinion most of my life, but given the way big companies are screwing everyone in sight, I'm starting to soften my stance.

Having grown up in the 50's, my father was a loyal union shop stewart, and was an "enforcer" of union standards. I started driving in 1969 at the same company where he worked and only lasted 2 years before a recession forced a layoff. NO union assistance so I entered the "normal" workforce until I moved to Florida around 1989. After 2 years I found a great job in food deliveries and rejoined the Teamsters but sadly the job lasted for 3 years before the company closed. Once again no union help. Pay your dues for nothing

Bottom line is the union is not the answer for anyone. If the industry followed how the LTL industry provides for it's drivers there would be a great pay and benefit package. I'm not not sure but I believe that the pay scale is around .80 per mile and around $30 hr. Unions are not the answer for today as long as drivers banded together. Unions are as trustworthy as politicians and that goes without saying.
