Shorthanded is one thing but 4-5 hours after asking is another thing. We may as well not have weekend dispatch if things take this long, what good are they.

Yeah, I'm sure your situation will be on the top of the priority list for the president of Shaffer come the busiest time of the week for the office staff on Monday morning...Not like he has more important things to do than to make sure Dvrtech is happy...

Can you put in for layover pay? If so, what does Shaffer pay for layover each day when you don't have a load for more than 24 hours due to dispatcher's error?

Obviously running would be better than sitting if you don't mentally or mathematically need a 34, but at least some layover pay would help to soften the blow a little bit.

No, they don't pay layover for a lack of freight. In fact, I am pretty sure that I have never received any layover pay over the course of all my visits here. According to our people, they had a new confirmed appointment for that last load, but the shipper said we didn't...so they voided the load this morning, but won't respond when I ask about getting a load, so that means there isn't any freight. And this is 2 out of 3 weekends that this has happened. I guess they don't need drivers as bad as they claim.

They set it up that way to have the majority of the folks working during the day…that being said is has been stated to mgt about the lack of communication back from ops a lot.

When my plan got screwed up tonight due to the other driver deliberately disregarding instructions I had another load immediately…from Tulsa to Utah….

If they don't respond to me tomorrow morning, I may deadhead myself to the Salt Lake City terminal, find a u-store-it and turn in my truck. Between all the ######## nanny crap on the truck and being totally ignored by weekend dispatch, not enough has changed with this place to justify staying. Hell, at least at SPD I got paid $150/day to sit waiting. The only thing I will get from management here will be advice on how to reduce my idle time because I am pretty sure I am way above their limits sitting this much.
