Not sure how you feel about being totally ignored...I tend to get pissed after the 1st few times. Generally speaking, it makes me feel like I am totally unneeded, so I go where I am needed

Don’t blame you for being pissed. They know how you like to run and let the slackers sit.

I finally had to have a conversation with my op’s manager regarding trying to work local because like you @supersnackbar i struggle with all of the safety features of these new Mack’s that make it nearly impossible to drive in the areas of the southeast that I run in. It’s not really what I want to do, I enjoy my work, but at 42 years old I can see the toll it’s taking on me to try and drive these trucks the way they need to be driven to keep from getting on the bad side of the safety department. Our local runs work in quieter, less populated areas, which in turn makes it a lot easier to deal with the safety features.

Only took 4 hours to get a response today. Got a load, pick up and deliver at the same customers, but a lighter load and different trip number. Picks up at 4 am, but says it delivers next Monday. I asked for layover and if we can deliver Friday, they said check with Op's tomorrow about those. Load info says it can deliver early, but must have a full tank of fuel...not sure a full tank would last from Friday until Monday on a -10 load... but will ask. Either that or I could bust butt to W. Memphis and T-call it...the shop should have a portable tank of diesel they could use to top off the reefer tank as needed. And one more positive, it doesn't go over Donner.

Yeah we all do. Our ELD provider Motive just updated their AI software and without warning I’m getting distracted driver warnings for touching my post mounted phone. We’ll have to see how that goes this week.

I’m actually bummed to be putting so many miles on my current truck because in a year or so when we part ways I’ll loose out on my 13 spd manual and lack of driver aids. Hey maybe I will hit the lottery between now and then :). Glad they got you running again.
