What other OTR carrier gives same day service? Picked up in Henderson this morning (the reviews weren't right, it took me an hour to get loaded). Had a 4/3 0100 delivery appointment, but when I called to check in at 18:30, they said c'mon in, we'll unload you know. So, I am sitting at the dock getting my cranberry juice unloaded. Next load picks up in Ogden in the morning and goes to Rock Hill, SC for Monday. A Fresnius load. It's a temp control load, but has specific instructions that it needs straps, not load locks. Not entirely sure where they want me to hook the straps in our reefer, but I'll try.
Funny thing about this Henderson load. On the last 2 pallets, one was against the driver's side wall, then a gap, then the other pallet, then a gap between that pallet and the passenger side wall...but the yahoo put an airbag between the pallets but not between the pallet and the passenger side wall. Fortunately I am a careful driver and everything was still standing when I got to Farr West.
Speaking of Farr West, Associated Food Stores no longer allows trucks to park on their inbound driveway, so if you get dispatched here, you have to park elsewhere.Lonesome, hope not dumb twucker, Knucklehead and 1 other person Thank this. -

Had an interesting day today. After getting unloaded last night, amazingly I still had enough time to legally make it to a truckstop (and found a spot). Got up this morning and headed to my shipper. I had a 10 am live load appointment. I got there around 8:30 and was the only truck there, checked in and was given a door immediately. By 10, I was rolling, until....headed across 84, we all had to exit because in the last curvy section before you get to 80 a flatbed layed it over (they say, I didn't get to see it). The cops had us get off on UT66, which is more like a goat path than a road. So narrow in spots you had one outside dual on the white line and the other on the yellow line and curves so tight, you were in the gravel taking up both lanes. And some of the hills I could only manage 15mph with no climbing lane. Finally got back on 84 and then on 80. Hit some snow between Rawlins and Laramie, and then more snow between the top of Sherman and the last hill you come down before Cheyenne. The stuff west of Laramie wasn't sticking, but some of the stuff before Cheyenne was starting to. Ahhhh Wyoming...it just blows here
Bumper, DonRobbie, hotrod1653 and 8 others Thank this. -
Glad I was able to make it to Cheyenne last night. Looks like that snow decided to start sticking after darkBumper, hope not dumb twucker, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this.
