The odd thing is, if I set the opti-idle, it doesn't do it, even if it hasn't needed to start to charge the batteries.

SS 1033260 New Cascadia Electric Horn Sounds One Time When Driver’s Door Is Opened

Applicable Vehicles This solution applies only to the New Cascadia Vehicles ordered with data code 275-061--ELECTRIC HORN WARNING SYSTEM FOR PARK BRAKE NOT SET WITH DOOR OPEN AND ALL IGNITION KEY POSITIONS. Symptoms When opening the driver’s door for the first time, after all of the modules have gone to sleep, a single chirp / beep sound can be heard coming from the electric city horn. Issue The single chirp / beep sound that is heard when opening the driver’s door for the first time, after all of the modules have gone to sleep, is not a normal function of the 275-061 data code. The ASAM parameter associated with the issue is 034 447 11 58 --PARM-SSM,ASC,PK BRK WNG (parameter is found in module 264) and is supposed to sound the electric horn whenever the driver’s door is open and the park brake is not set (released). The single sound is associated with a momentary loss of the park brake status during the module wakeup that results in the single horn sound when the driver’s door is opened. Solution An ASAM software fix has been developed to resolve this issue. The software is not scheduled to be released until the middle of January, 2018. If a customer does not like the single horn sound and wants to eliminate it, then the only option is to eliminate the programming associated with this feature. This can be done by replacing the ASAM parameter 034 447 11 58 --PARM-SSM,ASC,PK BRK WNG with 031 447 32 58 -PARM-SSM,ASC,NO PK BRK WNG. Do keep in mind that the data code 275-061 is an option and that the city horn sounding when the park brake is released and the driver’s door is opened is a redundancy to a feature built into the ICUC. The ICUC also sounds and audible alert if the driver’s door is open and park brake is released.
