The one *&#$ time I got a full inspection and a CVSA sticker the officer wrote a warning ticket for a star in the windshield 'because it had intersecting cracks' so the Windshield with the CVSA sticker was replaced the next day. What aggravated me was I reported it a year prior when it happened and they wanted to let it roll.

When I talked to the shop guy yesterday, he said 1 crack that is out of your direct line of sight is legal, intersecting cracks will get you a violation. A giant starfish like mine is an out of service. Plus, he looked up my truck and it is overdue for a CARB test. I could have sworn that the messages on the PN had already indicated the previous driver had just gotten one done before they pulled him out of the truck. Plus, the shop boss said that honk of the horn is just a Freightliner thing and doesn't know why it just started doing it recently when it wasn't doing it before. I guess I will initiate the fix that @kylefitzy suggested and pull the plug.

Plus, I have had my dual check engine lights reappear (and had the "check" one go out on Saturday). The regular amber engine colored nightlight hasn't gone out yet, it has been on for almost a week.

He also said that starting next year, the CARB test goes to 4x a year instead of 2x. I said we should just get a big saw and cut along the dotted line and push that whole state out to sea. They want to be in a world of their own, I say let it happen

Why did I think coming back to this company would end any differently. Just talked to the tech in charge of running the emissions test. He said it has a stored code in it that has to be cleared before he can run the test, and he said it takes 5 complete heat cycles before he is able to clear it, and each heat cycles takes a while (I don't know what he has to heat and cool). He said I should look forward to being here the rest of the day and possibly into tomorrow morning. ####ing Junkliners....never again will I work for a company that buys them...I would rather drive an International with a Maxxfarce.

I still think it is the program Crete forces onto the trucks ECM that causes these problems. When I worked for Navistar all of our trucks were wide open as new and we very rarely had these kinds of issues. Remember many years ago when Swift tried to sue Volvo for their ECM issues and Volvo proved it was Swifts choking down on the trucks ECM that cause it?

@supersnackbar I know sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t, but it’s like a battered spouse going back to her husband who promised he will change after he battered her for the 10th time.

I enjoy reading his threads but yes he is a glutten for punishment. He has posted his hate for Freightliners for years and why he would go back to a Freightliner exclusive fleet is a head scratcher.

I agree...I think this is a good representation of me
:banghead:. :banghead:. :banghead:, and expecting it not to hurt as much with each wall I try.

When was the last time you went to CA? We aren’t even testing all of our trucks yearly, let alone every quarter. I was told it’s like a random drug test and only a certain percentage of the fleet needs to be tested. I wonder who’s interpretation of the law is wrong.

    Lonesome and Knucklehead Thank this.
