Wow! That's so foreign to me? Since I cross scales on a daily basis, my company pays for the PrePass in my truck. That just seems like another way for OTR companies to make more money off of their drivers?

Office Dork: "Hey, I got an idea! Let's go with this bargain basement PrePass knockoff and get the drivers so frustrated they'll be willing to buy a PrePass themselves!"
Board of Directors: "Wow! You're a genius! Here's a $5K bonus for you to enjoy while we split the $50M savings among the three of us."

Arrived at the New Kingstown shop. And so far, my review is, it's a new shop, but the same old attitude. Checked in and wrote truck up. Had to explain why I thought things were wrong. Batteries...because my idle times are way high and I was told by my terminal to have them checked...inverter...it cuts off completely when you start the truck. He said, they all do that...told him, this is my 4 truck since Oct., and the other 3 didn't, and none of the ones I had when I worked for other companies did...plus if you use it over 6 or 7 min, it smells like it's frying itself...but if you don't think it's bad, let it burn the truck down for all I care. Told him about the lack of forced shifting, he said none of them do...WRONG again buckaroo, it did it for weeks, then quit..the '21 Freightliner did the same thing...plus when it quit, it started randomly hanging in the lower gears after a quick pee break or a 30. He said he's not sure they can do anything about the shifting...fine...do the A service, check/replace batteries and get me out of here...the #### truck can blow itself to the moon for all I care...too bad Mr. Acklie isn't still with us...he cleaned this shop out more than once...it might need it again real soon.

Just find a reason to get your truck into a freightliner and see if they can fix any of the shifting or electrical problems.
The 2019 I had last year had the same problem with the inverter randomly shutting down going down the road or whenever starting the truck. They said that they didn't know what caused that. Then one day I hooked up to a trailer and there were no lights on the trailer. Breakdown found that there was no power from my truck to the trailer so he jerry rigged it so I could get to the shop, then my company shop couldn't figure it out. Went to freightliner in Wichita falls Tx and they replaced the ground connection to the truck. Bingo. Also, my inverter stopped doing that too and never had another problem with it. They said that there were a lot of new trucks coming in with grounding problems. Bet that's yours too. -

I’m just curious, do any of these shops, ours included, hire anyone that knows the difference between a 9/16” wrench and a coffee cup?
