Ran a short load to Newton KS for Monday. (They can't all be 1000-1500 mile trips). Did a 34 at the Newall truckstop here in Newton, decent place. Quiet, clean. I got there Saturday afternoon and spent Sunday there, not a drop of rain. Walked in to use the men's room this morning, then grab a hot cup of inspiration and roll 4 miles over to my customer...while pouring a cup, I kept hearing something outside, and when I looked out the window, all heck was breaking loose. Thunder, lighting, and a deluge of rain...all the way to the customer it was coming down as hard as I've seen out this way. Right where I was delivering, the radar showed a purple blob...thanks Mother Nature!!! Would have loved to had that kind of storm on Sunday when it was in the high 90's and I was sitting still, would have slept like a baby....but noooo, ya' gotta wait until it's time to go to work....Mother Nature, you're a #####

My patience and acceptance of that short run to Newton paid off. Picking up a van/rack load from Spring Hill that was ready last Friday going to SLC for Thursday, 2174 miles round trip...

Well, I got to Spring Hill, and the load that was suppose to be ready Friday wasn't ready. Turns out, the plant was out of stock on one of the size of glass going on my load, so they rescheduled the load time until 1800 yesterday (Monday), which is fine with me, the load doesn't have to deliver until Thursday at 9 am, so there is plenty of time. It's been so busy that the plant is having a little trouble keeping up, sometime last week, they ran out of the biggest "jumbo" glass they produce. Guess that's a good thing in a way, it means that the economy is still churning along.

Bingo....winner winner, chicken dinner....outward opening door, inward blocking safety latch...guess as long as they were paying for it, may as well install it. Makes a good place to hang a belt though. It was at the Love's in Wamsutter, WY.

    4mer trucker Thanks this.
