Yeah, but the lady at the Secretary Of State told me to come back the next day after I failed the first time. Maybe I'll try a different branch.

I know what you mean about new questions....I recertified last year and there were a lot of strange questions on there that I probably will never encounter anyway. Luckily most of the guesses I made were correct.

Don't let it bother you, some studying you'll pass the next time. The practice test folks mentioned is a great tool but there are questions on the test that isn't on the practice test.So if you wanna go that route I would study every cdl test online. To find them type in google search, cdl prep test.

There have been some changes to Haz Mat regulations in the last couple of years. Try to find out if your state is still testing to the old regs or the new updated. I just had to retake mine this summer and my state still had the old questions. If you were studying the most recent haz mat regs you may have got mixed up. A couple things that have changed: You no longer have to do an inroute tire check every 2 hours or 100 miles, it's now only when you stop (park); The way the hazmat material is written on the BOL has changed to UNcode, Proper Shipping name, Hazard Class, and Packing group. Im sure there are more but thats all I an think of off the top of my head. It seemed like about half the questions were about explosives which I dont deal with, but it was all common sense.

I've had hazmat since donkeys years ago, and moved to TX in '05. Funnily enough, this time around I found there were a lot more tricky questions and because I was smug, didn't do enough reading/study. 3 failures later, my wife gave me a loving slap on the side of the head and hey presto, I passed.
whats weird is that FL will let you take it at least 3 times the same day, but TX.
oh no, those jerks would only let me do it once per day, and therefore I had to keep going back.
theres no sin or shame in failing the test.
it happens to the best of us.
But it is best to focus and study well before going down to DMV.
    good luck.
