And, THAT'S the biggie right there. You can, if need be, alter your living style due to income. If you like your job enough to be happy and keep at it for decades....how much is that worth? We all need money to live, but IMHO, it isn't everything. I envy this woman.

Yup - all said is true. I did hear that story about the driver that needed to go pee real bad. Bad choice, but I understand. Cameras have started popping up at terminals, but I'm guessing that was witnessed by somebody . . . runs into that indecent exposure field.

Teams, easily 200k+ (or 100k+ each driver), if you want to run consistently - solos 50k-100k depending on your run or how hard you want to run solo.

Knew a driver that was with them 14 years, tipped a set over (said he was reaching for his coffee), got fired. Sent a card in to the terminal that was posted on the wall saying how appreciative he was of the 14 year employment. Also knew another driver that tipped 2 sets over and kept his job.

Each time I start work, I know it could be the last run. But no guarantees anywhere. Terminals are different, differnt management, different rules . . . Generlly we're left alone, for instance, we got in on Tuesday mid-day, it's Friday mid-day and they haven't called to hassle us. We'll go out tonight.

All the figures he gave you were correct. We live 2 hours from a barn. If it weren't for the team aspect, I wouldn't commute 4 hours a day for a solo position. Home every day but just enough to sleep isn't worth it for me at the moment.

Been there 7 years now - good gig. Not for everyone, but has worked well for us.

And it has taken me the last 10 years to learn that. If I'm not happy - I may as well rake that pile of cash in the front yard and burn it. I'm looking for happier in the next 10 year stretch.

I talked to one of your drivers, and saw his settlement. $143k for 6 months gross - never mind his overheads, I could still see being happy with that.

He's done 7 at LS, and then switched to Mercer. Happy chappie.

We're all nuts - come on China - I'm one too, you gotta know that by now.

I've gotta go play with my imaginary friends now. They're pulling mushrooms in the fields . . . .

They will hire out of driving school if they're short handed enough. They also train if you start out on the dock and are feeling like glutton for punishment.

That's because they don't put radios in their trucks.
