hqdefault.jpg All a warranty is a license to steal call it goodwill or whatnot those stealerships are trained by the manufacturer to beat you out of your money , wait til you have a clutch issue on a new truck like i did , reminds me of that old lady that thru the tire threw the front window of the shop.

Don't feel too bad. I trust no mechanic and question everything. I have 40 years wrenching and still have to pay the piper when I cannot get to the work. It helps when you can talk like a mechanic but not always. My RV has the infamous exhaust studs that snap off. Dealer mechanic of 25 years broke two before I could get him to stop. It took the sound of a taser to stop him. While he was tightening exhaust studs I found a collapsed intake plastic manifold to be the problem.

Time after time I see the newer mechanics as RnR. Remove and replace until problem is solved. Code reader tells most likely problem and away the go. I have saved thousands by stopping them before they start. Unfortunately it is hard to get back into the shop for any future repairs once they know you can think and will watch closely.

Now my current truck needs work and the owner want to go to his favorite mechanic that I know is an idiot. It will cost him thousands in the shop but worst yet this is the only truck so the 3-4 weeks they hold the truck trying to fixit will cause losses in loads too.

In my opinion almost every bolt and conection on a class 8 truck should have anti-seize on it from the factory. Sure would make life easier years down the road

Yea, especially on something like a valve cover that they know will be off and on the engine several times
