Unfortunately in little rock Arkansas top performance drivers at Sysco make 74k a year according to the terminal in little rock. That's not very competitive for food service probably better off finding a different day cab job. Flatbed guys that are regional make that often with less back breaking work than food service.
Texas_hwy_287, Cardfan89, snowlauncher and 1 other person Thank this. -
Currently driving a day cab for a large unionized company. It's a headache most times especially with the seniority and getting bumped off routes changing from truck to truck that are old, not kept well at all from messy drivers and incompetent mechanics who just don't care to fix things properly sometimes even leaving various important bolts out. I don't want to sound over depressing but it's true. Management doesn't know their head from their feet & change routes daily thinking it will work because google maps shows them night time locations without traffic but these morons never understand that the daytime is a whole different story with traffic. Unless a driver kiss ##* such as buying dispatch coffees etc.. they drive the worse trucks in the fleet. It is what it is and I cant see it ever getting better. However, there is one good thing out of everything that's not so great and it's the pay. $75k/year to (some drivers earn) $100k/year (of course the higher ones are buying the dispatch/managers coffees)

Since this was started to inform people about daycab jobs. What company do you work for and why do you stay if you are so miserable? Swift is hiring at 35cpm...go get ya some.Texas_hwy_287, Cardfan89 and jmz Thank this.

Well, I'm sure there are excellent day cab jobs out there besides mine according to the work and atmosphere of the job. I just needed to show the real aspect from a veteran driver who's spent the majority of their career in a daycab possibly moving to a OTR company paying twice as much as Swift.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

Okay...shoot. Who do you work for so you can save everyone else the headache of possibly signing on to where you work?Texas_hwy_287, jmz and MACK E-6 Thank this.

@Trucker K
Report A BAD Trucking Company Here
You can do a write up here too to warn others of a bad place to work but just make sure you back up your claims in here to avoid being heckled to death lol.Texas_hwy_287 and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
I'm new to the forum. I'm also just giving my opinion based on my experience. It's not totally the worse as I mentioned the pay is good. For those who like good pay and can ignore the rest it's a good job in the 'courier sector' of transport.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

Being a retired UPS driver that would be my guess lol.Texas_hwy_287 and McUzi Thank this.
