I only have time to read first 5 pages. Anybody tell him to search out a 1099 bandit outfit? Nice and small. Not too many questions asked.

No problem at all. I used many of them. Wait..... is the problem not being able to find them? Or am I answering the question wrong?

The form ask for any illness in the last five years.....hello? Heroin addiction is a medical illness defined by the AMA ( American Medical Association) so that users can use insurance to get treatment.

The first question of the medical " History" section.....then they sub class each area by condition.

Spoken like someone who knows.....The only problem with drugs is finding more? Drugs are not the problem.....It's the person who can not use them successfully. The ones that can't stop using and can't hold on to reality....They wind up dead, in prison or in a institution. Hopefully they get help before it's too late.

Recovery is a daily struggle for addicts...the physical part is only temporary, it takes years, not months to shake off the mental thoughts associated with addiction....Relapse is a reality.

While a bit off topic, it is still relevant. I have High Blood Pressure (Diagnosed as what is termed hyptertensive crises if I stop taking my medication. It is controlled by taking 2 separate medications right before bed, and I have been told I will be on it for the rest of my life, it is hereditary.
In the past it was not a big deal, I wrote it on my DOT Medical, never thought twice about it. I see my regular physician 4 times a year for a BP check, make sure all is still well. He is not on the DOT list, so I go elsewhere for my DOT physical. Since the change in rules for BP, I would have checked the No box, the DOT Physician would not have known any better, and I would still have a 2 year card. Now I have a 1 year card even though the DOT Doctor does not treat me for it, and it is normal when I get my physical. Since the rules changed, how many new drivers out there will check the No box and get the 2 year? I would rather the rules allowed those who get checked regularly and are under the treatment of a physician get a 2 year. Having rules that work are better than having folks check No to get a 2 year card and get hired. How many Companies that perform DOT's would know otherwise? None, with HIPAA laws the way they are your Dr can't share unless you authorize it.

Companies will probably find out about the arrest and tickets, and that doesn't make you unemployable.
Anything else in no ones business.
Try one company; apply, and if for some reason the company doesn't hire you, try to find out why and keep that from happening on your next job application.

The laws in this country are crazy. And getting crazier by the minute. We're the so called "land of the free". Unless, you have a criminal background. Which you served your time for. But.... your livelihood can be limited due to that mistake you made YEARS ago. Or, you checked a box stating you have a medical condition in your past. The same people that are saying that you shouldn't do this, or shouldn't do that, are more than likely the same that have falsified their log books or ran 2 of them. People deserve 2nd chances. I'm ok with 70x7 chances. Everyone's lied or cheated the system. We're not going to stop it in this thread....

Perfect advice. But try at a company you could care less working for to start. Just in case.
