I'm also curious about this O/O test. No idea what that's about.

For general information...students are not supposed to be placed on hazmat loads.

If I sounded harsh, I think that was the point. I will not coddle someone who needs to learn how it really is, shows a resistance to such learning and appears to be a one month wonder. Oh, don't worry. We've all been through that stage. There is always going to be a need for those of us willing to shock your brain into accepting you don't know squat. You may hate me now, but six months from now, you will look back on this and know I'm right.

Now. Are you going to continue to whine and need coddling ...or, as you put it....support? Or are you going to put on your big girl britches and get the job done just to spite me?

    Yeah...me too...forgot about that one!

good point...since most students wouldn't have the HazMat endorsement yet anyway....takes time for the first paperwork!

Just don't admit it (out loud)...:biggrin_25524:

Playtex....do they still look like spear points?:biggrin_2554:
WOLFIE IS AVAILABLE FOR CUDDLING.....oh, you said coddling. What would she need with fish...it isn't Friday?!!:biggrin_25522:
I always thought it was "in spite of me"!!!!:biggrin_25525:

What I was going to say, but you said it so much better. And with experience. Whether you are sitting with a new driver next to you or not, you are, indeed, a mentor. Perhaps the best kind. Thank you, Mama Swift.

Yea, I am totally losing my "big bad wolf" persona these days. I am just more open to things going wrong with the training departments from companies. I was fortunate (as I have pointed out before). However for every 1 good trainer you hear about there are 100 horror stories.

It may sound like whining, but then we have all been there. The big difference I see is that instead of just quitting and whining while looking for another company she is still working to make it work at SWIFT. How many new posters do we see come through here looking for a new company after not liking the mentor/trainer at the previous company.

O/O test = CABS course, the open book/impossible to fail test.

Truck driving is not rocket science. You have your license, you have quite a few hours behind the wheel, no accidents no tickets. Keep your nose clean like that and learn every day. So many people say, 'I drove for this many years or that'-- it doesn't really matter. You're only as good as your last ticket or accident. You used your best judgement seeing many trucks in the ditch shutting down before driving on the black ice. You also used your best judgement getting away from the stressful environment she created. Students are nervous and stressed enough without the mentor pouring it on real thick. Putting fuel in her truck with your comdata card covers the fuel tax issue, however if you used cash, just get the receipt and tell her to file it with her tax people-- problem solved.

Hopefully you will finish your training and go on to a great trucking career.

Yet, you chose to stay on his truck beyond the time it took to get back to the terminal.

Why wasn't this choking threat mentioned before, when I specifically asked you what sort of violence are we talking about? You sent me copies of your emails to Swift, which I still have. You didn't mention it to them either. Is this a new revelation?

Paying out of pocket to keep her truck running? Really? And what exactly did you buy to keep her truck running? Further, why would you even consider it? It's her truck, her responsibility. You would have noticed that exhaust leak as soon as you got on her truck. Why not report it then? Which lights?

That's his job. He apparently does it well.

Don't forget: there are three others. Your mentors. We are not hearing their side.

That's good to hear. Swift is bending over backward for you. It's good you appreciate that.

Initially, you asked legitimate questions. As time wore on, you began looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear. Sorry it didn't work the way you wanted.

    One POS mentor? Absolutely believable.

Two? ...coupled with the specific complaints you made at the time you were on his truck ....might want to examine this a little closer.

Three mentors and still having problems? Most likely not the mentors. Considering some of the far fetched claims you are now making, now that you've had time to add to it, I consider it quite suspect.

But this is my opinion, to which I am entitled.

Again. Good luck in your career.

If other members have led you to believe you are not equally entitled to an opinion as I am with a right to express it, they are mistaken.
