After 3 days getting to know this new system I am not happy with it. First of all 3 or more messages with that same information that was on the old load assignments seems redundant. 2nd thing is the pickup numbers, they seem to be anywhere in any of the messages and they seem hidden. Also the new direction system sucks, they are using GPS in place of the old provided directions, and these GPS directions suck. I almost took a wrong turn this morning. Also to complicate matters worse with these GPS directions is they seem to have stopped providing telephone numbers to shippers and final delivery points. I read somewhere where this new system has took some of the workload off operations, yes it has, it has added to the drivers workload, and I am 100% sure a driver will have an accident trying to find a shipper etc etc. I was thinking today about these automatic transmissions and how I was told USA Truck bought a bill of goods because they have actually cost the company more money then a regular 10 speed transmission. I can't help but wonder if this new dispatch system is going to be something like this. I also wonder if the management of USA Truck is actually competent to run this company. I want the old Q-Comm mac system back. I also am very very leery when I see so much energy being used in phrases like (give the new system a chance you will love it) followed by ( good things are coming.) Please give me a break, my God why is it so hard to just give me a truck, load information and a telephone number and let me make myself and the company money. My mother had a saying that I believe applies here. (If it aint broke don't fix it.)
Some thought on the new Q-Com system

With the new system it seems as though they have quit responding. You send a message needing something and your lucky to get a response.

I will have to say that I've had to make more calls using this new QC System then with the old one. I would only have to call shippers/recievers maybe once a week or so with the old one. This time I've had to call almost on every load.
The load I'm on now has given me a headache to get directions from so I gave up trying to get them... Keeps giving me the directions for my old load because my new load assignment is all messed up... They didn't even give me a number to the final. Although Google helped find that, but then I got the right trailer number and got the bills and they have the number too.
I don't think I've posted this on here yet... Posted on my Facebook though haha...
One of my loads earlier this week... I was in Jersey and they gave me the whole load assignment thing. I look at the pickup mac and it gives me the street, city, and zip. Doesn't give me street number. I call the phone number and the company called doesn't match the shipper name... well come to find out it was the right number but it goes to their main office building in Michigan, they were nice enough to find me the address to the building and some good directions. That was one headache that lasted... about an hour. The second part was when I delivered... I delivered 20-30 minutes from my house... all the pickup delays made it so I couldn't stop at the house for the night. Get to the consignee and they say it doesn't deliver for another 2-3 days. Go down the road to the truckstop and send in some messages... finally get a response that doesn't say "checking" or "working on it" after an hour or two. It says call the hub I picked up... I call the main office again and she gives me a number to another company that is taking care of it so I call them and he says it was supposed to be setup as a drop and gives me all the information I need. I call the consignee and explain what I was told and they said they would call the guard and finally got rid of that load even though I had to go about 60 miles out of route to get another empty trailer for my next load that was supposed to be picked up early that morning. </rant lol>
I hate headache loads haha... Especially when they happen that close to home -
So you get paid for the lc job too? I just dropped a load of trash, trailer is wet but I swept the maggots out. Next load is a broker load, I call them for the info and they tell me the load is dry cement, dry/odor free ttrailer required. This trailer is no good for that. Quite the railroad we have running here.

You go to the dump in Amsterdam? I went there once during the winter, wasnt' to bad lol... very light snow and solid ground plus one great thing... no stench! lol. I went home right after that (live about hour away) on my way to pick-up next load. Continued north on the road instead of going south and went less paid miles + went home... can't beat that
.
The LC's are lazy... My new temp fleet manager is awesome. I sometimes feel like I ask to much but he does the job and does it much better then my old one. I usually ask if he can preplan me, and most of the time if there is something available he will.

I have been to the dump there several times, 4 I think. Quite the experience each time. Our trucks are supposed to be over the road, as opposed to off the road. I sat there all day, after I took a high pursue hose to the trailer and let it dry out. Took about 3 hours with this heat.
No qc, no one to tell me anything so i winged it and it all worked out. My fm called me and said good job......i feel so warm inside, lol.Thomas0810 Thanks this. -
I don't like the new QC system either...As mentioned, we have to get 3 different messages, plus whatever other BS they want to send with it...The old one had one message. Go here to get the load, and take it here...Simple.
I've had 2 loads this week. One from WV to Laredo TX, and the one I have now I brought from Laredo to Chicago area.
This load delivers Monday @ 09:00, and I told the fill in FM, That I would be here tonight and that I needed to drop it at the yard and get another load out of here, as I don't wanna sit for another weekend...12 in a row. Told me he'd get back to me on it, and never got another message from him. Now he is gone for the weekend...How pathetic.
I went on to the consinee and there was a worker outside that said they open at 06:30, and I could try and get in today. Hope so, and I bet a load magically appears if I do get to get rid of it. -
Isn't that something? My buddy got stuck this week sitting on a load, fm did they same thing yours did. So my buddy got a load home a day later, fm tells him to drop it in Spartanburg, he lives in Grenville. Then go home. When he gets there, fm needs him to deliver, no one to cover this all of a sudden important load, my buddies response, "where were you 2 days ago when I needed you"? He went home, load sat.
Sad it has to come to that. My buddy is a hard worker and gets crapped on alot here. Glad he stood up for himself. -
in spite of their best effort to ignore me -
I have had 2 service failures in a roll. The first one was the other day. I was at the end of my day and assigned a load to PU at 7PM with a delivery time of 5AM the next morning about 275 miles away. I did not have the hours to make delivery and had to add a 10 hour break, I finally did deliver about 11AM. Then the load I am on now had a PU time of 5PM and a delivery time of 9PM the next day. It was a 13 hour drive and I got the load so late the first day I had no available time on my 14 hour clock to drive that first day. I tried to get a delivery appt time for today but the company won't take delivery till monday. I had to drop the load and am now bobtail with no idea if I will get a load this weekend or not. It make's me mad as hell that the LC's set these impossible appt times and then get pissed when we have service failures because of them. I run legal I don't pad my driving hours through creative logging, I also have a message to those of you that do. Electronic logs are coming and when this happens you WILL start running legal. I also know of 3 drivers that has been fired because of this. This is like what Lawrence in safety at the west Memphis Terminal says. (a freebie)
