This is for people that are just starting out trying to find a school to attend to obtain their Cdl

1. Make sure your school will keep training you till you pass.. I just passed my cdl test today and got my cdl but was so nervous due to the fact i did not get alot of extra drive time - monday i got into a huge argument with one of my schools head guys i was getting the run around i was trying to get extra drive time to practice so i git fed up and went down to my school and confronted the guy he basically told me my 160 hours of training was up that i signed a contract and he could be done with me

I basically attended a cdl mill.. but When it was all said and done i got about 3 more hours of extra drive time which ultimately helped me pass my test and get my cdl but it would of been nice to attend a school where you could get as much extra drive time till you were comfortable test day

2. Obtain your cdl permit and medical card before you even start school. I could only imagine how much more drive time i could of got if i would of all ready had my med card and permit no one in my class had it first day it took most people a week or two to get it..

3. Go to school to learn not to play around acting like kids.. You wouldn't believe how many grown azzz people were in my school playing around like we were back in middle school or something like keep your head in the game when everyone is bs get your pre trip in or something. .

4. DON'T let fear keep you from drive time. . After the first day of driving the truck i was so scared to drive like there was times i lost out on drive time because i didn't want to stall again in an intersection but fight the fear and get as much drive time as possible if yall are driving to a backing yard somewhere ask the instructor if you could drive ..

 

Keep jakes on while cruising the truck stop
keep brights on so people see you all the time
empty pee bottle by the pump so the next guy steps in it
always block the left lane going up and down hill....
take every load you can to impress your dispatcher
tell everyone you want a million mile award and thats your life's goal
poop in walmart bags and leave them laying every were you can...even at shippers
eat only truck stop deep fried food, drink only coke, never bathe, wear a sleeve less shirt and saggy shorts
in general, just be as offensive as you can and show the world you don't care and you earned the right by being a trucker...
