As a driver, I know that food on the road gets to be very boring. Our choices are limited by where we can park or what we can bring with us. So, I would like this thread to be about something good to eat that we stumble across. Fast food or truck food. Just good.

Yesterday, I had to run by a Best Buy store as they did the install work on my office (2007 freight-liner). I was in Southfield, MI. The Best Buy is in one of those shopping malls with outdoor entrances. I parked around back plenty of room. After they fixed my problem I returned to the truck and past a Quiz-nos sub shop. Not sure of the spelling. Big chain. I had never been in one of their places. The special was Lobster sandwich. Oh my God. Wonderful. 7 bucks for a sandwich from heaven. Try one.

If you know of a good eat let me and others know. Mainly me. I get hungry about three times a day.

Quiznos makes very good subs ... there is another one on the PA turnpike extension, I-476, at the travel center just a few miles south of where it connects with I-80.

Good sandwich's but Sad thing is that they are under bankruptcy protection as they are really deep in debt

I helped open up Quiznos throughout the Chicagoland area back in the day. Most of the stores are franchises. Quiznos corporate never gave the owners the right set up to succeed. So many of them went under. Shame because the food was good.

FYI: the truck stop section on here lists places that serve good food and most of them have truck parking.

Yes eating something good on the road can be a challenge at times and you have to be creative at where to park. No matter what state I'm in I try to find a good supermarket. Just depends where you are determines your choices. I use Walmart as a last resort. My choice but I find them a bit dingy and uninviting.
My no. 1 choice is Costco and I can stock up on some goodies. And of course I have a truck fridge.
a real easy thing to make is my Avocado Surprise.
i chop up a Haas avocado onto plate, drizzle a mix of balsamic vinegar and olive oil on it. Then sprinkle a healthy dose of Parmesan cheese on top. I just like to see the balsamic/oil combo soak into the cheese.
Man, it's good and nutritious. None of that fast food garbage. And because I make it myself, it costs next to nothing compared to buying food dishes on the road.
The lobster sandwich sounds good, and you could go with blackened salmon instead. I could make that on the truck. Lobster is just a tad expensive for what it is. Finally, if you like BBQ if you're on I-10 in junction TX Coopers has some fantastic pork chops, nice and thick. That's the sort of place I aim for where I can park.
    Good luck

Philly Steak & Gyro Company. Pennsylvania turnpike service plazas. I haven't run up there in a few years but when and if I ever do again I'll be making a bee line for that place. There's actually a guy in Dallas luckily and thank god for those of us that demand the real thing, Fred of Fred's Philly Cheesesteak that makes the REAL DEAL too. I hate those insulting imitations that some restaurants offer.

Nothing wrong with dropping your trailer and bobtail to an Outback or Olive Garden.Wish restraurants like these have trk parking. But they don't so if im hungry enough, ill take the extra step and unhook. What about good ole fashion BBQ,who has trk parking.I know there are many in TX so ive heard but don't know exactly where.

I-20 I think it's exits 598 and 569 or somewhere in that general area there are two truck stops with Texas Best BBQ in them. Their BBQ is pretty good. But I'm a New Yorker so maybe a real Texan would think differently. The also have one I-35 down by Waco and another on 35W south of Fort Worth.
