South Carolina I-26 All Lanes East bound Reversed Today

Flood watches it is pouring right now off to the dr soon

 

They've reduced the estimated rain total in my area to up to an inch. Amazing how much of a difference 90 miles makes. J'ville is expecting flooding from both storm surge and rain amount...we're getting light to intermittent rain.

Sadly and not surprisingly, Matthew has already killed over 500 people in Haiti(the country is still reeling from the 2010 earthquake)-that should tell everyone what kind of storm Matthew is and it shouldn't be taken lightly.

 

I've seen hurricanes go in between Houston and Port Arthur, then up I-45 then quit over OKC and San Antonio and Austin and most of the area west of I-35 literally not get a drop of rain.

 

I use to be out and about during hurricanes and tropical storms while on the job before I retired.

 

No ####. Talk about a bad deal. House is flooded and someone burglarized it!

 

Well I have 2 houses and a vacation home. I would rent my other house out but we are re zoning everything and I will on paper own my parents home so it could never be liquidated. Renting no getting a law suit nightmare right now. So I go to it here and there leave a car change different lights etc.

 

A buddy's dad had rental property (still does as far as I know) and he went to check on it (vacant) and found the side door kicked in. He went inside and found squatters in it. What a freaking mess it was. Drywall was smashed, carpet ruined, BioHAZMAT everywhere, etc.

He has since fixed it up and now rents it. Much better to rent and not let it sit vacant.

 

Everything I have is fully furnished. I could leave with just the clothes on my back and be fine. When I drove you could say I had another home lol

 

Update: The death toll in Haiti has spiked. The official count is at 842,making Matthew one of the deadliest tropical cyclones since Katrina.
