The only down side I have heard from any COTC drivers was mostly about us SPD drivers passing them like they're just poking along...and the driver facing camera. Most have said it starts out always off until you F up, then they turn it on while you're rolling and it never goes back to being shut off full time again, ever... no matter how you improve your performance or abilities.

I know a guy that worked there. I was trying to get him to come to spd. He said he was using his phone for gps, it locked, he picked it up, unlocked it, and put it in the mount. The camera picked it up and they shut him down for 48 hours. He didn’t come to spd and he no longer works for cotc.

Cotc seems like a pretty solid 65 mph flatbed only gig. If that’s what a guy wants.

Yeh, I do miss the 1996 Kenworth W900 I drove for Centerline Express before they went out of business. No governor and paperlogs.

We have samsara cameras. So far the inside facing camera is covered up with the supplied cover.

Well, still searching. Gtexpress? Another of good things about the company's previously mentioned, but one thing they all have in common is lack of good hometime. COTC and SPD, prob have the best, well GT express says 1 week after 3weeks out. I am probably just picky about it, bit companies trying to brainwash you into thinking 5 days a month or 1 day/week out is good are just more proof the trucking industry as a whole really hasn't changed. If I am already working twice the hours as a 40hr week job, then why shouldn't I get 2 days/week, especially if I'm busting ### and making miles. I can't get my own truck right now, but starting to rethink a lease possibility.

I agree with the time off, but a lease is not the way to go. You will be a slave to your master.

After all the research and info gathering, I have decided to go with COTC. I start orientation on Monday, Feb 5th. I haven't done flatbed in 4 or 5 years. Have been watching a lot of videos on load securement to refresh my memory. Need to practice my knots. Thanks for all the information and advice.
