My favorite is when you are stuck in the middle of a ten mile backup and you see one that says, "watch for backups."

Kind of like those signs warning you of a bump when the last ten miles have been rough as hell.

TaterWagon#62, Big Don and Kyle G. Thank this.

We do it one better in southern Ontario
Usually in winter there will sometimes be huge wrecks from time to time and cause like a 10+ mile backup. Woodstock to Ayr area on 401 I am looking at you! Nobody uses the cb here hardly. The road signs will say "always wear your seat belt" or "Don't drink and drive" NOTHING about the very long backup miles ahead. What's the point??

    Kyle G. Thanks this.

One of the best I seen was on Hwy 11, a two lane road.

    Keep Right Except To Pass.

We have one here right before getting to I-75. It's one of those helpful x mile in x minutes signs. Except this one is "I-75 3 mi 3 min" Umm.. that's helpful. Even if there was a backup what good is the sign that close to the interstate.
Or even better for out-of-towners... "Newberg rd. 18 minutes." That's nice, how far away is Newberg rd?

    TaterWagon#62 and #1don Thank this.

I've been trying to figure out how to quote only a portion of someone's post and make my comments in between like you just did. How do you do that?

That one is a particular pet peeve of mine.

"Accident at Elm St exit... right lane blocked."

So you move to the left lane, only to find out Elm St is 27 miles up the road.
