I just got a 2007 Utility reefer with low hours but spring ride? Most folks say it is bad for business. I am more liable to damage my goods due to the road bumps or has anyone used the spring ride successfully without damaging boxes or goods? Is my best bet to change the spring ride before use or can I run it for a while before changing it? Please advise if you use or have used the spring ride suspension on a reefer. Thanks.

Why would you want to qualify for less loads ?
Tug Toy Thanks this. -
When I worked for FirstFleet doing deliveries from the Kroger DC to the stores, every single one of their trailers were spring ride. The guys that loaded the trailers did exponentially more damage to product than the trailers. I would have to say that it is a non-issue.

All of Crete/Shaffer trailers have been spring ride for years...and they do in-house driver training.

Spring ride 48ft GD's at my food service company. Them cardboard 50lb boxes of soda syrup stacked at the bottom of a pallet on the tail of the trailer take anything the cross bronx has to offer. Don't sweat it

Put "Air Ride" decals on the trailer. Believe it or not, this is not uncommon. On rare occasion, a shipper will actually look for those decals.
ramblingman and bzinger Thank this.
