Pre-trip sounds kind of really complicated however once you understand what its all about it will come naturally after a while its basically to make sure your vehicle is safe to go out on the road and will get to its destination. Checking fluids, your suspension and your tyres are the key to success.

Good luck. I did mine last year and the pretrip was a lot of memorization for me. I would take a few long drives and put my notes beside me and just go over it and over it.
The skills were so difficult for me. I just coudlnt do it. But eventually I passed it. Just give yourself lots of time, take things slowly and don't overthink it.

Well after a while I have an update.
In April I started school with Bradway Trucking school which is part of Cumberland Community College. The first week was classroom stuff, watching lots of videos, which although a lot were old it did show that you should adopt and learn defensive driving. Now I feel that I had a slight advantage here as I am British and learnt to drive in England where the driving test is about an hour long in city and rural roads with hill starts, K turns which due to the width of English streets could end up as a 7 point turn and various other tests taught me to drive with respect and caution up to the point where I have been in this country for the past 16 years and have no accidents or violations.
I already had my permit and all the endorsements along with the twic and hazmat endorsements before I started the school, but I felt that the school was not providing very good practical training, we were basically left to our own devices with doing the maneuvers, where the previous class, which started a month before us would pass down some of their words of wisdom and assist us. But after time the instructors would watch us and let us know what were doing wrong and how to correct it. The school has a fairly large paved practice area with all of the maneuvers laid out where we would practice, practice, practice until after four weeks we could practically do it in our sleep perfectly. We were also taken out on the road with the instructors where we would drive in the country side as well as in city traffic, which when you are going out the first time with a sleeper cab and 48 foot trailer was a little hairy.
But the good news was that three of us went for our test yesterday and all three passed. So now I have a shiny new license with all the endorsements, and I would like to thank all the people that have responded to my posts with words of encouragement and job opportunities, which were all very helpful.
I will keep you all informed as I travel through this new era in my life.
All the best to everyone and safe trucking.
