    So,

Finally made my way into my closest trucking school which turned out to be recognized and certified with a great ammount of trucking companies.

Hadn't made my way there until yesterday because I was too worries about not been able to afford to pay for formal school nor independent practices.

Anyways, I made my way down there and I went right for the kill and told them I had no money and that I needed to get my license.

They gave me a tour through out the whole school and showed me all the companies that I will have the options to choose from (including one that is local and the drivers get to sleep home every day)

Total cost of the course is $10,295 including road test fees, endorsements, all that good stuff and 5 months of hands on schooling.

The good part is I get to pay only around 4K and that will only be 6 months after I graduate and paying $60-75 (whichever I decide montly).

Program is 5 months (22 weeks) and it is a total of 540 hrs.

Good thing is a lot of companies like Western Express were not even willing to talk to me even if I got my license at hand but had not completed at least 160 hrs of school.

I know this is not a question, and I know some hot fingers are ready to start yapping about being out of topic, but I just wanted to share with those that replied in a previous post of mine where I spone about my concern of not being ready for my road test.

Now it will take me another months to get it done but I will feel ready and confident.

Almost 11K to learn to drive a truck? Are you kidding me? If you follow through with that you are one hell of a sucker.

No way in hell is learning to drive a truck worth that much, regardless if you are broke are not.

There are other options that are available to you. I suggest you do that before becoming indebted to a career you might not even last 6 months in.

I believe that's the "if you finance" price, but you're right....that's a boatload of cash. There's really no community colleges around here that offer a trucking course.

Wow, that sounds like a lot of money to me. I would take a copy of the agreement you are signing to an attorney and get them to look it over. I know my school only cost $2,400 but that was back in 2005.

The fact that you are only on the hook for 4000 seems fishy. Get it hook, fishy. Anyway, there is no one in trucking that wants you to succeed more then myself but be careful.

He's paying $4K for the school which is about normal for private CDL schools.

Good job, study hard & welcome to your new career.
