Starting with Roehl in February

Thanksgiving off.
Day 4. pre trip inspection. 1 hour with cheat sheet. so for the cdl test you need to script it as follows. "Clearance lights - properly mounted and secure , no damage no cracks, amber in color and reflective." there are 212 items like this if you had to name them all but so many are repeats the examiner will probably say move on. Drove the test route including the freeway. 53 miles today. not so many gear crunches, not so many over revs so must be getting better.

 

Whoops! Grizzly228 I just ended my first week at roehl in appleton Wi. Make sure you get a work release before you come. Safety doesn't get around to your paperwork til 3rd week for some reason. They stopped a guy in the middle of his cdl test to send him home to clear up some medical issues and called a 3rd week student in twice because she hurt her anklea year ago. Just be prepared

 

thanks. I have to return to my current government job long enough to give proper resignation notice so I will already be medically cleared and have all the necessary red tape paperwork in hand prior to calling Roehl.

 

Going to be starting in Marshfield on the 5th (going flatbed), I really appreciate you guys and gals giving these updates it gives us a good prospective on what to expect so please keep it up!

Day 5. Saturday. Half day. all classroom . "Driving in the snow", "Using the in-cab PC".

 

Keen to get started, would jump on a plane now if I could and start Monday Absolutely want to get the max out of the schooling as much I can but I am looking forward to getting my own Tractor and some miles behind me.

 

Do you guys call them Semi's too? or is that just a Aussie thing?
