I stand corrected. But anyone who runs a recapped steer tire is an IDIOT!! And out of all the stupid regulations that DOT comes up with this one takes the cakeLong FLD Thanks this. -
My steer tires can be regrooved -
I’ve lost recaps before. For me that would be a no go down the road. Would not drive a truck with recapped steer tires.

The last company my cousin drove for doing mail started using all position tires on the steers.
He said in 30+ years he'd never experienced anything like it.
Said it was like turning a tug boat. -
275/95/22.5 and 285/75/22.5 are the same size.
