Omg dude, by the time you decide on this, trucks will be part of history and robots will be doing all transporting goods.

You overthink all of this, just put the names on slips of paper, fold them, throw them into a big salad bowl and and pull out a name then go with what you pick.

If you can't afford to get a physical, how do you think you can afford to be an owner operator?

Here is a suggestion, go down to your local ups place, apply to be a dock worker and have them train you to he a driver. This is a zero cost to you.

Really? That might explain why my recruiter with them stopped responding to me, at all..... I did my DOT physical yesterday & passed with flying colors :) Now I just need to get my CDL permit. I've been studying for it off & on.

Not anymore. Most I have read about or spoke to a recruiter from expect potential drivers to do their own physical before school, which actually makes sense if you think about it. They also require you to get your CDL permit before attending school. In Oklahoma you have to have a medical card to take your written CDL exam.

I was planning to go to Pam, which is a smaller company, but I kind of need transportation to the school & they don't provide that or transportation from the hotel to the school, so I will likely end up going with Swift/Knight.....my son works and currently does not have his car legal to drive. Since we live in Oklahoma, if I take the one car we have that is legal hundreds of miles away, it is sure to pour down rain every day I am gone that he has to work. lol

I wouldn't go the OO route, but if I did I would probably have a lot of money saved up first, and a very good credit score before starting.

Thank you for your response! I have decided not to go that route, at the moment. Perhaps one day :)

Keep coming here to these forums and read as much as you can and you'll be ahead of other drivers with your same experience.
