Well even if you get a load back you'll have to do a reset in a motel before you can drive,

I had this happen to me back in the 80's, the company closed while I was on the road. Do you know someone that lives near the company that can go over there and see what is happening? If the worst comes and they are not getting you home, if you have duals on that truck, sell the outside tires and buy fuel and drive home. It may be the only way you are going to get there.

Man, I'd be very tempted to buy a couple 5lb bags of sugar and make some cylinder head caramel.
Airborne, Grouch, KillingTime and 1 other person Thank this. -
I live in a different bubble, I would sell what fuel is left in the truck, and anything else, tire chains, cables, just to get what I could out of them. I would also call the Salvation Army, explain your situation, they may be able to get you a bus ticket out of there, and a meal or two to get you home.
I would then write a detailed, and factual account of what happened on Yelp, Glassdoor, Indeed, JustHired, and anywhere else I could find in hopes no one else will have this happen. Other options out of there, just about any company looking for a driver, apply, and have them buy you a ticket on the grey dog, and don't look back. I would send an email to the owner, explain where his truck can be found, and were to send you check to. Make sure you let him know you will be filing a small claims action as soon as you are back in town.Airborne, NavigatorWife, Diesel Dave and 2 others Thank this. -
I would borrow the money to get home then put a lien on the truck and trailer to get paid back for what I borrowed and the time I spent sitting! A lien is legal if you can and do show proof, now if you lien it and they have a bank loan on it you'll get paid pretty quick because the bank doesn't want a lien on their property, but if the company owns it outright put a time frame on the line. Say 30 day's it will go to court and if the court finds in your favor you could end up owning a daycab and trailer

You guys are falling for a troll. An employee of the reciever is lending him money for a hotel? For 9 days? Ya right. In Daytona beach that's 80 bucks a night minimum. That's 720 dollars to a total stranger. Ya i believe that. Got any bridges for sale?

But just in case post is real. If that truck had 22 inch aluminum rims ill get ya more than enough money to get home. Just tell me where its parked. how are the batteries? 13 speed or 10? What kind of rears does it have? Get my point?
