You need to sit tight till your company gets you back to Indiana then look for another job.

Nine days? I don't agree with abandoning a rig but in this case I think it would be acceptable.
Also, the driver should have started looking for a solution after the second day.

    spyder7723 and buddyd157 Thank this.

You know dude, this is a case of a cheap and stupid owner. I looked at the DOT stats and got to tell you that your boss sending you down there is so stupid it ain't funny.

I would do this - call him up and tell him to either get his crap together and pay for fuel/housing for the trip home out of his own pocket or you are getting on a bus and leaving the truck there because he has forced you to quit with this crap. I would not wait for an answer, I would just repeat it until he got the message and hang up on the sob. He should have the money to send you $1500 through Western Union and have you back home in a couple days, but if he doesn't, screw him, his loss. Leave the truck and get home. Just tell him you quit. I wouldn't even leave the key with anyone, lock it up and send it to him in the mail when you get home.

This crap about abandonment went out the window on the second day, I wouldn't even worry about the DAC report, that's bs and many fleet owners like me ignore it anyway. If he gives you a bad reference, don't worry about that either, more than 2 days sitting on his ##* means he doesn't care, 9 days is reason to leave.

I hate these *** **** cheap owners who put themselves before the drivers. There is no excuse for this crap - NONE!

What you do is park in a No Trucks mall or something and let them tow it to an impound yard. No jury in America will convict you for abandonment.
