Strange deliveries or pickups...

Glad someone opened this thread. Let's see.

I had a taxidermied elephant head that the owner had slow boated out of Africa where he shot it (I still have the photos somewhere), then 2k lbs pallet of ammunition going to a residential, an anvil going to a bar, 108 inch flat screen tv, plastic coffins, a pallet of adult novelty 'items", cremation chamber, and three pallets of flooring products that were COD. The guy gave me $23,000. Cash.

I am sure most of you are aware, but usually if the shipment goes to an odd consignee, it's sometimes going to an employee and not the actual business. Like that anvil I mentioned. That went to the bar's owner who didn't want the residential fee added so he addressed it to his business. We also had car parts show up addressed to our terminal for our drivers.

 

Oddest one i ever got was an entire truckload of balsa wood to a structrial support company known for making bridges. Close second was an entire load of bulk peanut butter that went to a marina that only delt with small boats. I never did get the why on that second one. Even the dude signing my papers was confused lol.
