I don’t know your financial situation or where you live but there are FedEx Ground contractors hiring right now paying over 90 cents to the driver. You could always park the truck and drive for someone until stuff gets more back to normal.

Thank you all for your responses. A lot of ideas here and good information as usual. Thankfully our equipment is paid in full so we don’t have that worry of expense. We kinda figured flatbed with the weather was going to slow down but the rates have been 2.00 to 2.30 a mile which after fuel and expense we figure we making company wages. We like that idea of making the box from Memphis to Atlanta, Cleveland, Chicago, so we looking into something like that. Our problem is we don’t have current flatbed customers. We do have a couple of customers on the power only side who call upon us but they just don’t call often enough. We did what lual mentioned and thought outside the box a little bit and we called on a couple power only loads today. We have one booked for tomorrow paying 3.20 and we can use their trailer for 5 days after delivery free of charge. So I guess we going to go that avenue for the time being. Thank you all for your recommendations and although I’ve never met any of you I truly feel like I can ask questions and get solid advice from all of you. To me your my TTR and I appreciate each and every one of you. Blessings to you all.

Since you have your own authority I would contact Coyote. They are owned by UPS and handle setting up all the peak runs. It may or may not work out, but it doesn’t hurt to see where they need the help the most. In Louisville Mercer has it locked up, they have owner ops being paid to “stand by” and get paid hourly just for when they need an extra power unit.

There’s a ton of new convoy trailers waiting for delivery in Jonesboro AR, seen them the other day, about 30-40 of them.

Buy a cheap hopper and haul grain. Not the best paying but it will keep money coming in. At least in central Illinois it’s pretty easy to get something going. I would assume that most of Indiana would be similar

I'm bidding on some new stuff that would work well for you. You'd have to slam doors though. lol
If it comes to fruition i'll give a hollar. I think we're all having to sharpen our pencils right now. It seems to be hitting especially hard all of a sudden. Hell, I had a team, and a solo reach out today about driving company trucks. That hasnt happened, umm... maybe ever in a same day.Another Canadian driver, Oxbow, Feedman and 6 others Thank this. -
