    Yes we have been very blessed. We really don’t spend much money. We try to bank most of what we get. We know times are tough right now with diesel fuel so high but we just don’t understand why the rates don’t reflect the fuel, in most cases on the spot market it like they left the fuel consideration out. To me it’s like flatbed just bottomed out. That’s ok we have shifted and we are going the power only avenue for the time being and honestly the power only side is where we’ve made the most money thus far. So yes thank you Midwest we are going to buckle down and make this happen. I promise I try not to complain. Lol. Sometimes I just wish we grow success quicker than we have. Trucking has actually done rather well for us so I need not complain about these wages because for the most part we are out here getting ours. I can chalk it up to me having a pouty day yesterday. Oh and I’m a woman too so some days are like that, lol, I can’t explain.

    i think it's that spot rates do reflect the fuel, but don't reflect much else, a couple nickels to the taker. as long as those loads keep moving why would the rate go up.

    got to either specialize or scrutinize. it's way easier and way cheaper to do more than necessary than it is to do less than necessary

    Flatloads used to do good.

    Can tell you where it’s going, Boasso global yard in chalmette.

    Used to work there, they’ll be onsite at 0600 but didn’t do outside trucks til 0800.
    0700 for company trucks.
    Those used to have a good rate.

    Your not in bad shape at all. Plenty for the rainy days that are here and some. I know when I sit for a few days, I could get a little dramatic too :rolleyes: but I know I’m covered. Keep your head up high. We all will get passed this. ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE :D

    I turn in paperwork wednesday to wednesday, i ran hard last week.
    worked half day saturday was off sunday

    Wasn’t a weeks expense, just fell that week, used my company bank card. paid in full, i could break it down but money changes itself.
    That was new brakes/drums/shocks, and a new brake chamber.
    And why truck wash was so high, was truck/trailer wash plus washout.

    Stark Forest Products (Canton, OH) is always moving. You can get their load lists from their website. All are for 48' flatbeds. Heavy, but consistent.

    Lumber Transport - Savannah, GA - Same deal. Cheap, need some coil racks/chains sometimes but can get load list off their site. It hasn't been updated in a few weeks so email Candace. Super easy to work with.
    Last, and probably least, JDH Pacific - La Mirada, CA - pretty consistent Flatbed freight from CA to OK, TX or TX, OK back to CA. From what I've seen, they pretty much stay in or close to those lanes. But we get consistent quote requests, 1-3/day. I just don't have my team bid them because we don't have capacity.
    I HOPE AT LEAST ONE OF THESE CAN HELP KEEP YOU GUYS ABOVE WATER AND BEHIND THE WHEEL!!!

    You nailed it. So what through me in a frenzy I guess was Friday night was my birthday, and we just came in off road. Husband complaing of his pancreas hurting ( he’s had pancreatic problems in the past). Finally talked him into going to the er around 9:30 pm and by 2:30 am he had a room at the local hospital. His triglycerides were at 2300 and they should be around 150 no more than 300. So we camp at the hospital next 3 days. They did a procedure on him like dialysis but it was with his blood, forgot the name of it but basically flushed his blood of the triglycerides and when we left hospital late Tuesday afternoon his triglycerides were at 241. After being in the hospital no rest we came home to rest up and finallly took off with the power only run on Saturday. I know he didn’t feel much like strapping or tarping so this trip out we parked the flatbed. I would be okay with parking it for the winter.
    Sometimes sitting around like that will play havoc with your mind and emotions so you’re right all is well and we keep our heads up high and we pray that things get better for all fellow truckers.
