Starts at the beginning of the 8 as I understand it leaving you with 5 driving time in the examples I read about. More than enough to find a parking spot and finish your 10. Another site I am on has a very good cdl trining course which explains it all, still studying up on it as its in a test format and just started that section.

I was kick out of a customer and ran out of hours because I blew an airline.

Called sni and they said try to call police to get an ecsort. If not, call breakdown to get a tow truck to move you.

Lady cop didn't seem please she had to ecsort me

Actually the law says that as long as I am not the one unloading the truck I can if I want be sleeping in the sleeper. In the example used they were stuck there 7 hrs, so had they used the sleeper split they would only need one more hr. If you cant keep em arguing or get creative enough to waste another hr because they are being #*$&heads, then I guess you take your chances with that law. But all I know is my airbrakes dont work and my dispatch has sent a tow truck which will be here in an hour........

One way or another I'd get my eight. There are times that may not work, but you gotta get creative, or learn the hard way to manage time better.

A shipper calling and paying for a tow truck probably never happens. You know they ain't gonna pay the $1,500 tow bill. But I have heard of a shipper calling the cops to force a driver off the property. The local cops dont care what the E-log says and will tell you to move it.

What can you do,you leave the shipper and tell your dispatch along with logs and safety if need be.Its their property and your company will not try and talk them into letting you stay there. If logs feels it's justified to disturb your hours to find a place to take your brake they'll excuse it.Its the trk drivers job to keep track of their hours and manage them not the company. When you're getting close to running out of hrs you notify your dispatch right away like a couple hrs before you run out and type it on the Qualcomm so logs and safety sees it so they know you're not delibrately trying to cheat the system and That' you tried. If you dont hear back from dispatch then call them.
