C1 in Indianapolis had nothing for people to use to get back and forth. What they did was encourage those with wheels to give those that did not a ride. The hotel was several miles away too.

When I was at USA Truck orientation there was a female in our class that went to C1 in Texas. If I remember something she said right the school did have a van they used to take the students to the place where they did their state testing, but I don't know anymore. I do know that at the time i attended C1 in indy they had so such van primarily because they do the state testing on the premises.

I went to C1 in Ft Worth. Wasn't any shuttle when I was there(March 2011). They just told everybody to carpool with those of us that had cars.

I listen to Hannity, Beck, and Rush. Alex Jones lost all credibility with me after his 9/11 theories were debunked. Not to mention that him and his "colleagues" maintain their stories about all the SS style takeover of New Orleans after Katrina. Problem is, I was there with the Army 3 days after. There were no black helicopters and no detention or interrogations of people. FEMA did hire security companies to escort fuel tankers and other supply trucks but it was only because they kept getting hijacked and they had to supplement the LHP as many local policemen and sheriff's deputies had quit their posts and deserted. The National Guard did assist local law enforcement in searching homes and did confiscate weapons but this was only after gangmembers and looters had fired at unarmed regular military units that were doing search and rescue and delivering supplies. Infowars at the time pushed a story that the military had built internment or concentration camps. Well this is partly true but not in an evil Orwellian sense. We built 2 camps at Fort Polk, LA. One was for prisoners evacuated from max security at Angola. The other was for evacuees that had been brought from New Orleans area. People were under no obligation to stay and most left rather quickly as they constantly whined about inadequate air conditioning and bad food quality. Keep in mind that our base was without power during that time as we'd just been hit by Rita. Our backup field generators were providing power for the refugee camps, base HQ, mess halls, and the hospital.

Anyhow, people hear what they want to hear and believe what they want to believe but as Fox Mulder used to say "The truth is out there.".

Eh I have been wondering same thing with USA Truck. BUT I went from working Fast Food at around 10-15k a year to where I am now...2nd week at the C1 in Indianapolis. I also want to see the country...to me I see no problems with what is asked. I have been told you may have to ride dispatch to get miles...was also told by instructor that our best bet would to take every single load that they ask us to do regardless of the miles or where its located. If you build a rep through a dispatch to take every load possible then you will get more miles. Which I could see that being the truth. Its the same with anywhere...if someone was to call you in and you turned them down...obviously if someone else always says yes then they will be the one with the most hours in the end and labeled as always being a for sure thing.

Its just a matter of how you wanna make yourself look. We drive on the range and street tomorrow for the first time. Looking forward to it.

Btw I understand I just "Grave Dug." No one really posted an educated answer. Im sure the guy already made his decision...but eh someone else could take what I said into consideration.

You didn't really grave dig, thread started a little over month ago so that isn't to bad. Once you get in the truck by yourself with USA you will see how things are first hand. It can be stressful at times and it can be good at other times. I never turned down a load for USA, but I would say I can't be there and such and such time and they would sometimes reschedule or say get it there when I can. That being said, USA sucked to work for. They had lack of communication between departments and their pay is crap.

Just read around the forum and you can see various opinions about USA, A lot of them either being negative or neutral but there are some that are positive. Most of the positives turn into neutral/negative after a while though.

Eh guess every job I have actually had did start out positive...then it became horrible. Its just another job I guess. But USA is starting something new. Instead of the sign on bonus they are doing incentives to stay with them. Now its $200 apon completion of the class, then its still 350 a week salary while with trainer. After obtaining first seat its a promised $600 a week despite how many miles you get unless you make more than that per week. Was .26 a mile now its .28. After 60 days its like .32 mile and keeps going up within the year. Not sure exact amount of time...signed a paper about it yesterday.

Personally I am looking forward to testing out and getting with my trainer and getting first seat so my wife to be can ride with me. (We will be married June 2nd) I have never traveled or seen much of the country. Love driving...and after being in the tractor a few times now I like it despite how much more practice ima have to get. Just now starting to get shifting down as well as Straight Line, offside, and parallel. Also may have PTI down...will know for sure Friday.

May get old...may have its ups and downs. But every job does...doesn't matter if you went to school for 8 years in Medical school or Law school...every job has its ups and downs.

I was thinking the same way you were just two weeks ago but trust me usa has a lot of problems. Hopefully they will be good to you though. I upgrade in a couple days but I can already see a year is going to be hard to do.
