So on Nov 10 I pick up a new student and we begin to roll on down the road. On the 23rd he is ready to test so we put in to come into spring mo and test. So we get a load to laredo and the one out will put us in ks then will go in. We'll the load crossing the boarder it late (they always are) and when I finally get it it can't be scaled 2400 over on drives so we sat Tuesday Wednesday Thursday (thanksgiving)and at 1730 on Friday the load was reworked and available. So my student says he wants to put off testing for a week as he did not drive for almost 5 Days. No problem so we ran a week and we were on a load to Texas and prep landed on a load to the yard for testing. Of course Dallas gets a freak ice storm and we sit another 4 days. So we run for another week and finally on dec21 we test out. The good news is he trifecta . The moral of this story is when you are out with instructor remember we are a freight company that instructs. I try to get my students in as soon as they are ready so they can start the process of earning. But sometimes the weather and the road spoilers the best laid plans. Be safe

You seem like a good trainer that is there for his students and not just a paycheck. That is always nice to see!

One question though, why did you sit in Dallas for four days during the storm? I drove through it with a set of pups with little troubles, other then slow traffic due to icy bridges. Only had one occurrence where my trailers decided they didn't want to stay straight behind me but that was due to my error driving to fast for the bridge I didn't see and a slight correction fixed the issue with no issue.

I might add for the students piticulary the ones just starting, when you sit for days like this student and trainer did, talk your trainer into giving you some backing and shifting practice.

I got back to the terminal to test out for my cdl and upgrade exactly when I was supposed to actually got back for upgrade a little early so I could spend time with the wife and kids before testing. See that didn't take long at all. Enjoy your retirement. :)
