I'll start. It was circa 1990, and I was running Canadian freight, mostly Ontario and Quebec. I had crossed the bridge at Queenston/Lewiston, headed to our drop lot in Mississauga, the one where you had to call in from the strip club next door....
Anyway, I was driving down the QEW on a BUSY summer day (may have been near Canada Day), on that stretch between the old 5th Wheel truckstop in Lincoln and the steel mills in Hamilton, near that part where some corporate office building on the south side of the highway used to have a fountain that sprayed water 20m into the air. The QEW there was 2 lanes each way, NO SHOULDER by the median barrier (no grassy median), and a small breakdown lane the other side of the slow lane. Quite cramped for the traffic flow that highway saw.
Traffic was backing up on the left, and I could see that there was some sort of obstruction in the left lane ahead, so merged right as quickly as I could. I get a little closer, and can just about make out some full-sized van stopped dead with 2 wheels up on the curb, nearly touching the center barrier. The van had a bunch of bikes strapped to the back, too.
BUT, I could also see 2 people riding there bikes AGAINST TRAFFIC in the left lane; it looked like an adult woman and a child of maybe 10. ON THE EXPRESSWAY! I can only assume that "dad" sent them to call for help at the exit a couple km's back! To this day I can't comprehend what any of them were thinking.
Man, those people sure ain't gonna win the "parent of the year award"....
Stupidest thing you ever saw somebody do on the highway?

Couple of migrant farm hands in a 1980’s f-350 slammed down to the bumper hitch pulling a full size single wide mobile home up US 281 north of Edinburg. Using shoulder and right lane at about 20-25 mph.
On two different occasions over 20 years on same hwy but between Alice and George West were it is darker then dark at night, had a car driving southbound on northbound lanes toward me. Both times they turned into one of the cross overs and waited for me to pass before pulling back out and continuing on. Like x-files stuff. Lol. -
A driver missed the offramp to the rest area I-65 south bound horse cave, ky. Turned around and pulled in the on ramp and parked

I’ve seen both cars and trucks slowly backing up to a missed exit or rest area before but i’ve never had the pleasure that I can recall of seeing someone do a u or a k for one.

A pickup hauling a trailer without securing the Bobcat “Were not going that far” and it fell off and was laying on its side on the freeway.
