My father's been truck-free for about 8 years. Sold his almost brand new truck and older trailer to go run heavy equipment. He says its much less headache, better pay and he has more time off. He's almost retired now so I don't think he'll be back behind the wheel again.

Anyway, some people really enjoy the trucking lifestyle and would rather do that than anything else while others, like myself, view it as just a job. I've always liked computers and technology so I would rather sit behind a desk surrounded by equipment, testing software, designing and implementing LAN's, and stuff like that. For some people, they would absolutely hate a job like that. -
