Such a thing as just being nice?

I got stuck here at a wayside in Hayward, WI and figured I'd get out and take a leak. There was an old man getting into his truck, and we started ####-chatting, took a walk down this trail that leads to the river. Mostly just talking about weather and stuff. On the way down, I wonder what the hell I'm doing, thinking that he could be some serial killer or something. We get down to the river and he asks me if I'm horny, and while I'm quickly and clearly saying "No," he asks me if I want to fool around. What the hell is wrong with people these days? Before I started driving truck, I had no problem with chatting with an old man at a diner, hardware store, farm, etc. On the way back up here, he asks me all kinds of questions about trucking, about if I'm in contact with the office at all times, what'd happen if I didn't answer my phone if the office called right now, etc. I mentioned that my truck had a GPS unit in, and if dispatched called and I didn't answer they'd wonder what was going on. It was really nice to see there were other people here when I got back up here. I went and used the toilet and he was talking to this group of guys just passing through. I pulled one aside and mentioned what happened and he laughed and said "Dirty old trucker." I pointed out that it was in fact ME that was driving the truck, but we still got a good laugh out of it, and he said the old man didn't try anything like that with them.

Enough trying to just ####-chat with other people, what's wrong with these sick ########? I come from a farm, and in all likelihood I would've punched someone that said that back home--as I would have been expecting a swing if I asked such a sick question.

Now that I think about it, I guess he wasn't just old and unaware that he was scratching his balls--I think this sick old ####### was playing with himself.

...at least I learned something new today.

Good eats in Trego at the Prime, and I've never seen ant dirty old men there either. Hayward is an odd duck altogether. A weird mix of locals and rich twin city folk.

I hope Trego is open late, because I'm starving and can't move 'til midnight. Ended up finishing my day with .25 hours left. I thought I had over an hour left, but apparently I miscalculated my 70. Guess I'll start paying more attention... maybe even a separate calendar for it.

I am sure the bar is open till 2:00 or so maybe even 2:30. Don't know how late the kitchen is open. The prime is on the east side of 53 across from the Mobil truck stop, U'd be able to see your truck while you eat. I just pull through town and park on there side but it is a lot of tight small streets a tuck probably should not be on.
When I delivered booze it was on my route for a while, nice people and good food.
Also I think there might be truck parking at the Jack of Diamonds on the north side of 63 if your in the mood for peelers!!!!

I ended up waking up late (actually I woke up on time, but reset my alarm a few times, then it died) and leaving around 6am. Did grab a gatorade and coffee at the mobil across the street. Just FYI, their coffee is HOT. My tongue is still numb. :(

Yeah, gotta get a fishing pole. It'd be a nicer way to spend a reset.

I was thinking about that. Twice now I've taken my break right on the Mississippi, up in Hayward (where the sick ####### was) there was a nice river, and it'd be nice to fish when taking the break in L'Anse. If you've never walked around L'Anse, you should. It's really a nice little town.

I figure being on property it wouldn't be necessary to have a license, anywhere else you might be playing with fire though. Game and fish laws are some of the strictest I know. Most states you can buy it online anymore, I usually have a printer with me, so it could work.
