5+ Hours to Download a map update on a WiFi network that doesn't have download issues with other sites is RIDICULOUS!!
When is RM going to invest in the infrastructure necessary to adequately service the PREMIUM PRICED products that they sell?
If after all this time off the road downloading this update, I have an issue transferring it to my device, I'm going to lose it!!

I won't disagree with everything.
But there are A LOT of factors that can and will affect download speed.
It took me 2h to download.
The map update is very large. -
Trust me, I understand the possible "variables", I spent 25+ years as a network engineer and later as a product line manager for IBM.
I guess that's what makes this so frustrating. I know how a premium product should be produced, tested and supported.
If a product manager who worked for me on my product line at IBM had released products such as the TND line of GPS's as buggy as they are and as inadequate as the support is, they would be looking for another job.double yellow Thanks this. -
And RM controls the Wi-Fi network and internet?
I did post earlier that it could take a long time on Wi-Fi and that is why I suggest a high speed internet connection.
As an engineer you should know that a lot of things are in play once it leaves the server and goes across the world of the internet and onto a Wi-Fi network. It is about 4 gb.

I don't believe your issue has anything to do with RM I would suggest you check your Internet connection. I updated 2 TND 720's over cable internet via Wi-Fi from separate laptops. It took 27 min to download and 17 min to fully install. I think that was pretty descent so I don't think you should be ragging on RM in this regard.

I haven't been to our friends' house to try the map update yet, but I did try disconnecting the TND and closing the dock while we went out to eat this evening. When we came back home, I reconnected the TND, and the dock is still acting the same. If the TND is connected, the dock opens, but the error message "Corrupted Device" immediately pops up and the "snowflake" in the system tray has a balloon pop up that says, "No device connected. Starting Dock with most recent device information." But the Map Update Available button is available to click on. If the TND is disconnected, the map update button is greyed out and I can't click on it. I did like you said and right-clicked on the "snowflake" and clicked "Quit" with the same results. I will try the map update when I get a chance, and I'll let you know how it goes. Many thanks for your help.

I will be home and available after 3pm est on Sat. Let me know if you are available. I will remote into your laptop hopefully you will be at your friends house for the higher speed. Remoting on a slow connection is painful.
I use Teamviewer for remoting.
I will "clean" up your laptop and start from the beginning again with the Dock. Make sure you have the TND available. This should take about 3 hours from start to finish with the new maps.
Thanks,
Mark -
Should be able to close the corrupted device error by clicking on the X. Then it should recognize your tnd as being connected.Voyager XII Rider Thanks this.

I had a very difficult time trying to remove the card, no spring action. Is there a certain way the card goes in, because the user manual does not tell you.

Upside down, back is facing the front of the screen. There is a spring action.
Thanks,
Mark
