Of those options I would go with Don (dieselboss)
you can contact him direct to ask about the maps but I believe they
    are lifetime.:biggrin_25525:

    Dieselboss Thanks this.

The free lifetime maps special came with all of the Rand units at the first part of the year. For March and April the special is an instant rebated price reduction instead of the lifetime maps. For May/June? Unknown until that time arrives. The bottom line is that the lifetime maps special is governed by Rand and can be turned off and on at their discretion.

So how do I actually update the maps? I am registered with lifetime maps. Do I need an SD card to update them? This is for the 710.

A message will come accross the Dock. You must have the "New" Dock installed.

    Thanks,

The "New" dock is just the software update yes?

    Correct.. Software not maps.

If you were around when a different "Dock" was in use you would see the difference. The "New" Dock is a complete GUI change.

    Thanks,
    Mark

So I guess my 700 that I paid 499.99 two years ago is obsolete. I have had to replace it one year old for a bad battery. The new one quit working a year later. We were informed that since they had replaced it once--tough.
Customer service didn't get back to us. We were told that we could get 20% off if we bought a new one. Why? So that it can quit working in a year? Seems kinda expensive for a years use. Thats about 200 per year.
I really enjoyed the features but I can't afford the yearly price.
    Any suggestions?
