I really appreciate that sir. He runs the poor thing heavily loaded, but for maybe 4,000 miles a year. He can afford the $700 odd for the correct turbo, but hates to do so for a short mileage truck.

My fear is further engine damage, but only based on my mechanics advice. I am not a mechanic.

It’s overworked as it is. His CAC is shot, he’s replacing it too. Appreciate the input.

If he needs a CAC, check out AV-TEKK heavy duty bar and plate design CAC. If he’s going to spend the money, might as well get a good one. I got mine through Superior Turbo in Detroit. Not much more than the bargain aftermarket ones, that don’t last. Maybe they can direct ship it to him. Good folks to deal with.

That’s kinda the problem - it hauls grain to town 5 miles away, he’s almost beside himself at the turbo let alone the CAC !

They have an assortment of aftermarket knock offs on eBay, as low as $400 or less. Problem is he’s probably going to cost himself more, within a few yrs. by going too cheap. He might as well throw yours on it, see how it does.

I've used that turbo on Cat C-12's and C13's that ended up loosing a turbo.

I didn't forget to look, I did forget to reply. I dont have a listing on individual turbo part numbers. With that said, it's not going to hurt it, if anything it will be low power. But a new cac and a 17701 BW would probably be my best input. He will be good to have some hp tuned into it if he wanted to.
