Hey guys,
One of my drivers was involved in an accident with a Swift truck. Well, my truck was parked at the truck stop and Swift driver took half of my front with his trailer. To make a long story short, Swift driver admitted that it was his fault.
Swift insurance company is cutting a check to me for the repairs, and they only want to pay for 15 days at $150 per day for truck not being used. It's been already 30 days and they just advised me that they will be sending out a check for the repair which might take another 2-3 weeks. Out of pretty much 60 days, they want to pay only 15.
My question is am I able to get more money out of them for down time or it's whatever they want to pay?

It's called attorney. Get YOUR insurance agent involved. That's what you pay them for. They are your AGENT.
If your AGENT can't get a satisfactory outcome, then retain an attorney and sue them for the full cost of repairs, down time, attorney costs, rentals, etc.
They get by with this so often is why they do it. It's called buffaloing. "Here's what you get".
No... you took out my operation and you're responsible for my losses.AModelCat, Aamcotrans, 88228822 and 15 others Thank this. -
Swift is lawyer-ed up to the hilt and stingy as hell. Your lucky they didn't submit payment with a Com-data cart with a resubmittance fee.
They got their rules, they won't give you a cent more without your attorney advising them differently.FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
Why did it take 60 days to repair your truck? That seems a bit long even for a front end clip.
FlaSwampRat, Grubby and snowwy Thank this. -

Don't cash that check! You'll need to prove what you make per day from invoices, bank statements.
You can get more money but you'll have to prove it.

I just do not get this, you have trucks on the road with drivers in them and you DO NOT HAVE A LAWYER ON RETAINER?
The first thing you do is get a lawyer when you get your first driver.
gonna tell you right now, you won't get what you deserve out of this mess. A month down, I'm looking at $40k to recover on a truck, and that is not all of it.Grubby, rabbiporkchop and jammer910Z Thank this.
