Swift apparently didn't pay any of their drivers this Friday..

Don't each of those carriers get a new-entrant inspection by the govt? IMO, the best thing for this industry is a massive reduction in carriers and trucks and the govt and industry should be cooperating to make it more difficult to become a driver and carrier.

Make starting a trucking company as difficult as opening a new restaurant or daycare center instead of almost as easy as starting a new website..

Was it also an accident to show only Swift trucks?

    What was your point, exactly?

    You're way off the market.

Rhoel is 1/10 the size of Schneider, but is barely above CRE in regards to training quality.

John Veriha has about 200 trucks and some of the worst drivers I've seen.

Round by me there is a farm hauler that hires "last chance drivers". There's also a milk hauler who is known to pay high school kids $20/hr under an ag exemption.

Unqualified drivers getting on the road has nothing to do with the size of the company. It has everything to do with the mindset of maximizing profits at any cost.

Just look at how much effort ATA and OOIDA spent trying to derail ELDT. They like having the appearance of standards- just so long as they're not an actual barrier to entry.

Seems counterintuitive but anyone willing to compromise safety for profit is a danger to us all. Appearance of standards, that’s funny, and oh so accurate.

It's funny you mention milk hauling for 20/hr. I see indeed job postings all day long for 18-25/hr for fully endorsed and experienced drivers. Hazmat jobs at 25/hr pulling doubles in a MCOL city. No OT, 5/12 schedule.

Also, ELDT is a joke. And all these new, "gotta go through a driving school program" is a joke as well.
