What inconsistencies... I never said I worked for Swift.. I said I was told to be ready to go to Florida and get it caught up.. Which evidently you guys got caught up because I have heard nothing else.. and yeah Greatwide sucks... My post are all consistent.. I never ever said I wanted to go to Florida and help get it caught up or that I hoped you guys lost it.. I just hope that I DON'T have to go down there.. It is not my problem you have a problem understanding what I was saying. In that post there I was telling the truth about how tough the sledding was in trucking right now and how I wouldn't trust anyone.. so w/e

BTW Silence speaks volumes Injun.. OH and you guys aren't caught up still about 12 hours behind. I would suggest you learn comprehension before you call someone out.. It just like your name is quite offensive.

there's a walmart DC just a few miles from where I live. They just started hiring local drivers. Recruiter told me 37 cents a mile plus ten dollars stop pay. Should make just over 800 a week on the account with my experience level. Not sure the validity of that since its a recruiter but we will see. Currently driving 100 miles round trip to get to my current job and living this close to a DC will be a nice change.

    The rate sounds about right.

That $10 per stop...your pickup at the DC, first store drop and final drop back at the DC are not paid. All other additional stops are paid your $10/stop rate for a company driver.

Good luck to you. I hope it works.

The recruiter called me back, said my application was perfect. But because of the holidays they aren't going to do any orientation until Dec 26th. Wtf?

They said the road test and three day orientation(holy cow, i'm experienced not a rookie) will be in Ocala. I forgot to ask her if I will have to be driving back and forth to Ocala everyday to pick up my truck, or if it'll be parked at the DC. If I'm having to drive to Ocala from Winter Haven for work everyday I won't be a happy camper.

I think you will be going to the DC.

And try to not feel offended. Everybody takes a road test, regardless of experience level. There are some drivers with decades of experience who routinely grind gears, speed through parking lots, tailgate and make corners improperly.

Try to remember how to double clutch.

Yea my recruiter said I need to double clutch. No biggie, like riding a bicycle.

Have you seen daycab trucks parked at the DC?

No. I'm not anywhere near Florida. I see daycabs parked at the Grandview DC all the time.

It would not make sense to ask for drivers within 20 miles of the DC, only to send them 100 miles away to get their trucks every day. It wouldn't be cost effective for Swift.

Now Injun, they have been known to do some things that are not very cost effective, like bob tailing an O/O 248 miles, paid loaded, to pick up a new trailer and move it 3 miles.
