I have never heard of this split deal.
How does it work?
Will the Qualcomm automatically put the time up, when you do it correctly?
I mean the same as it does after the 30 min and 10 hr...

Next time for you 10 hour break, just log 8 solid hours in the sleeper and see what it says after the 8 is done for your available hours. An easier way is to count over from the beginning of your day how many hours of your 14 you have used and how many hours of your 11 you have used and subtract those from the respective numbers, that's how much you have left after the 8 sleeper and 2 off/sleeper.
-
The shipper or consignee whichever you are at actually pays for the detention pay. We not it on the BOL and send a Mac 11 (our detention pay mac). We just jumped up to $20 after the first two which is actually a little more than mileage pay.

I have notice my clock putting up time around that 7-8 hour mark.
Everyone kept telling me it may be incorrectly programmed for intrastate. -
So you are you sleeping or just logging that and driving to get miles with hardly any sleep?
-
And the difference between being logged on-duty vs off. -
yes I know and you stated you log 8 in your sleeper to leave on duty time. I simply asked during that 8 are you actually getting any sleep or not.
-
I'm getting sleep. But I do get up to pee... Drink water.. Check messages, etc.
And noticed the clock giving time back randomly. I figure it has to do with this split ... Just want to understand it.
None of this really applies to me. I run dedicated store delivery JIT. So the need to 'edit' my logs does not really exist. -
Thanks because I first heard of the 8 hour last week and was wondering if you actually got some sleep because I have had customers who let us sleep on their lot come up earlier than the delivery time and bang on the window for the delivery. I can see this is where an 8 hours split can come in handy.
