I can almost guarantee he's new and either has a front wheel drive car or somebody with 16 years experience told him he needed to in order to laugh at a new driver.

He obviously didn't get that in any kind of training from Swift, didn't look at his driver's manual and had a mentor who never showed him. Nobody knows this stuff without having been told. I should think the experienced drivers would want to give him a hand and at least tell him the right way. Maybe not to save that new driver's life, but maybe to save their own. Maybe it would be more productive to get a few yuk-yuks and then go help that new guy. Regardless of whose wagon he hauls. But I don't see anywhere in your post where you gave him any help at all. Just got your jollies and moved on.

Remember when you see a new person doing something wrong, it's not only his own safety that can be jeopardized. You share the roads with them, so yours is on the line too, especially in the challenging winter months.

That is true....it wouldn't have hurt to tell the driver it was unnecessary. Of course, if he puffed all up then whatever....

Everyone is new at one time regardless who they work for. It's definitely a good laugh but if the driver is willing to listen, then give them some advice.

Well laugh if you want but, I've chained 1 steer tire a few times myself, along with the drives of course.

I never learned how to chain up from my trainer either. We discussed chaining up, but we never actually did it.

Others may understand if you were not able to stop to tell the other driver that he did not have to chain his steers. Kind of hard to stop quick enough, and no doubt he wouldn't have heard you say anything on the cb if he is outside the truck But what is the point of coming to TTF and telling everyone what he did wrong and point out that he drives for Swift? Oh, I guess doing so makes you feel special.

I tell ya I have NEVER thrown chains on a truck or car so I honestly wouldn't know the first thing about doing it. I was never taught in the school I went to, by Werner or by Celadon. I was lucky enough to never run the mountains during winter or I woulda been screwed blue and tattooed. So I would definitely be asking for some help
