Swift driver leader pushes drivers in inclement weather

What annoys me about this driver managers attitude is the zero concern for the drivers time. Sometimes it's better to shut down, wait out the storm and maybe even squeeze a 34 in. Getting paid by CPM means that if it takes me 10 hours to drive 50 miles all I'm doing is hurting myself by the end of the week. Usually it's much better to shut down, wait for the roads to clear and actually make time.

Yes of course it's all dependent on where you are, e.g if you are waiting on Donner to be free of snow, you'll have a long wait...... Other than a few passes like that though it's mostly better to not burn hours doing what amounts to almost nothing.

 

They should send that message to the governor of NJ, he always blames the drivers, thinking we just love driving in that mess(not the state this time)

 

In the governor's case, he is right to blame the drivers that ignore a travel ban (assuming they know (they could have been in an industrial park and not seen any signs yet for example)) Doesn't matter how annoying the travel agent is, the driver is the one who turns the key and releases the brakes,

 

Ignore the ban, get fired
Drive during ban, get raked over coals, maybe lose licenses.. oh what is a swifty to do??

 

Wonder how many swiftys wrecked because of that moron. Hope they take it out of his pay.

 

OMG. Hopefully Martians will not invade our country during the snowy weather otherwise our armed forces will run out if ammunition.

 

Chains are just daily life for truckin' north of the border. Don't wanna chain up, may as well only work 8 months a year lol.
