So I havent been hiding from anyone on this forum. I will talk to any of you face-to-face, so I am certainly not scared of any internet warriors.

As some of you know, Millington, TN had a massive flood last year, almost exactly one year ago. I live about 100 foot from the levee, and I have been home during these massive storms making sure that my home is safe, and getting ready to evacuate if it came to that. After 38 hours of no sleep, why, I stayed home again to sleep, de-stress, and get rid of my headache.

I dont do work-related stuff at home, including accessing this forum. I prefer to hang out with my friends, or at the bar, and having a #### fine time. Now, if any of you are in Millington and are not in school (sorry students), I would be glad to have lunch with you on a Friday or Saturday (my days off), especially if you buy.

Those two sentences are unrelated. My best friends sister in high school used that saying.........:biggrin_25517:

    Welcome back!

100ft from the levee? I hope you are renting and can move!

I had a house on the creek in Dickson. Never had flood insurance. Ex-wife has it now. She didn't get flood insurance. She got 4ft of water in it last year during the Nashville flood.

That's just absolutely unfair. I say you should come to Phoenix and take me out for a diet coke and pie. Otherwise it will be obvious you're a company spy. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

Due to a couple of pms I just received I'm going to make a clarifying statement and then I'm going to ignore any similar pms or posts.

When I posted that I spoke with Shrek, I was speaking about having sent him a couple of pms and he sent me a couple. I at no time was trying to infer that I've met him face to face or talked on the phone.

Now if my usage of the word "spoke" is so outlandish and so horrible that people wish to call me a liar or call Shrek a liar then all I can say is "get over yourself". God save me from the idea that I must use only words that others approve of.

Perhaps it's because I'm from Texas and perhaps we use words in a manner others aren't use to. I don't know. But I do know that after the day I've had, to be called a liar based on my usage of the word "speak" just makes me hotter than chili pepper in a skillet.

Please do take a look at the link to Merriam Webster's online dictionary and you will find that indeed the word speak does not only mean verbal expression. Thank you all very very much.

    Issue:
Unable to get dispatch info for next preplan until sending current load empty call.

Drives me crazy to sit 4 hours doing a live-unload with a super-tight preplan on deck
and not having that trip info.
I could be planning my route and breaks/10 hr stops etc.
Instead, I have to wait until empty call.
Then 10 min. later it comes over the QC (if it auto dispatches, if not call dm now 20 min have passed)
Then another 15-30 min. to plan my trip.
All after I just spent 4 hrs on mu butt waiting.

So call it .5 hrs wasted time
Times 8,000 (half the trucks in a given day)
4,000 man hours WASTED A DAY

You have a qualcom in your truck, use it. Message your DM to send you the directions to the shipper and consignee of your preplan. Tell him/her that you want to plan the next trip while you are waiting. A good DM will send it to you right away.

    Yes, that works from 08:30-12:00 / 13:00-17:00.
    25% of a day.
Or get a preplan in the eve while on a 10.
Be nice to have it then.

Just sayin for the info to be sent right after accepting the 2nd preplan would be ideal.

Ms. Nana, I knew what you meant. Here....take this bag of Hershey Kisses I've been saving for you. And a hug.

Yes, you can get load information, at least for the shipper, while you sit at the dock at your current receiver. If nights or weekends, send the following: "ECT: Plz send customer information and pickup number for next load. Would like to plan route. Thx. ....." If you send it as soon as you roll to your receiver, you should get the information within a half hour. If you don't have that kind of time, make a phone call....but BE NICE!! Just tell them you know it's going to be tight and you can't afford the time to wait for the computer. All you need is directions and pickup number. You should be able to get that.

Gotta love how computers have improved our lives, yeah?

Have you ever sent in an Empty call when you weren't empty yet? I've done it a few times, in fact I did it today. I could see the guy was about halfway done unloading the pallets of stuff off the trailer so I asked him what his name was and went back to the truck and sent the empty call. Sometimes they won't give me their name or I don't feel like asking so I just put initials in the name field like D D for dock dude lol. If they have a short temper, S T or pretty girl, P G.
By doing this you may get your next preplan sent and planning started for the trip.

Loaded call same thing, all the info you need is on the preplan anyway-- except the seal number. I have gotten away with putting just one digit in there-- 1-- Loaded Call Received and Updated. The only thing that matters to anyone is that the seal matches the paperwork, not the qualcomm message which could be explained away as data entry error.
