when usx planned to start Variant they stopped ordering red trucks and only ordered gray trucks because it was going to be the best thing senses slice bread...

It didn't work out so the only new trucks they have coming in are gray... I've even seen Gray total trucks... don't know if or when they will start ordering red again

I've seen quite a few JB's pulling Amazon Prime trailers.

Schneider is the only mega/big fleet that operates that better. Seen drivers pay off a new truck in 3 years while clicking and booking their own freight. Everyone else lease to own was a joke with being dispatched !

I've actually talked to more than one Snider driver who was LP and was happy with their situation.

Just so you understand how money hungry usx is... all 0/0 and LP could be on percentage... in 4/2011 they figured out if they changed them all to mileage the company would make more money....!!

In 2018 they were going to start a loadboard for LP & 0/0... 5 days before it was to start they changed their mind when figured out thatLP 0/0 would be getting more loads and the company trucks would be sitting more

I'm putting together from a number of threads that if you really want to do LP, the better option is to:

    1. Run hard as company for at least a few years and save up.

    2. Use part of savings for down payment to finance truck.

    3. Rest of savings for as big of an operating fund as possible.

    4. Lease on with carrier.

I'm sure it's not quite that cut and dried for everybody but is that roughly the moral of the story?

    How's Covenant doing?
Heard from a couple Friends driving there that some Covenant yards were shuttered in the last 2 years.
Is Covenant tightening the belt or just trimming the fat?
Would Swift/Knight and Friends maybe buy Covenant?
    Just Curious, Thanks.
    CHEERS!!

I was company with Schneider and their instructors and DM's, at least at their Green Bay terminal, were fantastic. Their load planners? Not so much.

Their trailer maintenance was also a little questionable.

My 2nd truck there was a former lease op unit with all the bells and whistles. The blue and orange really popped together. Screenshot_20230421_132019_Facebook.jpg
