How about that anal probe taser for those people who post in a tiny little weird font without taking into account the eyesight of some of us "old farts" on here?:biggrin_25525:

    ###### boy ! I wish y'all hush .Dont you know that the DOT and trucking company safety dept's have enough ideas w/o you giving them anymore???
One good thing though, you couldn't fall asleep w/ all the zaps you'd be getting..and no one would have any heart attacks either.. w/all the automatic defibfillators..hooked up.

You should be able to go into the tools up there in your browser and override website's font and sizes and colors to your own preference.

Failing that, if you have a mouse with that roller thing on top, try pressing down Control button then rolling it up or down to the desired size.

Turbo could you, or would you point someone in the right direction that wants to get into the trucking industry ? I have been looking at a bunch of companies I don't have my CDL. I have been seriously thing about doing this for the last year, but don't want to end up with nothing but a bill and a sour taste. I am a hard worker, single and kids are gone this is my time to try what I have always wanted to do. Never drove one been a passenger. But I love the road. I 'm just not sure what would be a good choice. Find a school or a company sponsered program. I don't want to go to a school and then have to pay again to go thru another training. More time and money. I understand the fact you hav to work your way up and the training wages I understand. I just dont want to end up like the guy in the link you refered to. Anything you could say would be appreciated.

its rather simple actually go to the dmv pay the 40 bux take the written exams ps study first and ask questions here we will help you out once you get your permit get on witha training company. hmm hmmm stay away from swift, werner, schneider... go get your exp take your driving test and viola cdl to go

imho one of the better training companies out there is prime its all 1 on 1 if you dont already have your permit then they have a week of class and take you to the dmv to aquire your permit

there are a lot of good trainers at prime but expect to drive not sit.

What do you want to hear? That one is better than the other? that one of them won't screw you as bad as the others?

Generally speaking, most of these outfits don't give a darn about the drivers. The drivers are a means to an end. The company is going to make their money, even if you get nothing.

Keep track of all your settlements. They will "forget" to reimburse tolls, detention, scales, etc. Most won't pay detention. You'll sit for hours on end at docks for free. " It's all part of the load", you will be told.

To most companies, drivers are a dime a dozen. There are plenty of new drivers, and experienced drivers, looking for work.

If you complain, they will say you have a bad attitude. Just shut-up and take it, expect nothing, and you'll do fine.

I went to the local job training place. My school was free and they gave me money for gas to and from school! They would have sent me to a local 3 week school, I held out for Nashville Tech. I went to TN Tech 36 days of class, 218hrs of instruction. I came out as a PTDI certified driver. Made me eligible to go to Crete. (my job history knocked me out of that.)

Swift won't try and shove a lease up your butt like other companies.

    Prime loves you to lease.

    I owe nobody anything.

Check into the WIA program that is who paid my school.

You don't want to be on the hook for $3-8000 for a job you might decide you don't want after 2-6 months. Swift has been good to me so far. 7 months.
