Pretty sure they're not actual daytonas, unless they converted some into police editions. The sheriff has a full size ram pickup. After the town police chief chased a robber through a bean field in his crown vic we tried to convince him to get a pickup too but he'd have none of it. He wanted his cruiser back so we fixed it up for him.

As is a person who makes assumptions on another person because of his continued place of employment, yes?

HAHAHAH....that is funny. you only been driving for 3 yrs, and you're calling ME (with 2 yrs) a rookie.

    ----EDIT-----

oh, and try going thru chicago/i-80 when all the traffic is flowing at 65 or more, even the big trucks. Dunno if you know this, but you CAN get a ticket for going SLOWER than the flow of traffic, even if you ARE doing the speed limit. If you think i'm wrong, you'll just resort to calling names, rather than verify if its right or not. Dont get all butt-hurt because i've never got a speeding ticket in the 2 yrs i've been with swift.

how is coasting in gear with the jake on going down hill any different than coasting up to a stop light. I'm in total control at all times. my foot is covering the brake, the jake is on, and i'm in TOTAL control of the speed, and can re-tar-d it at ANY time. That is by no means 'out of control'. And just how 'dangerous' is it to go 65 than it is to go 62. I think you're just grasping at anything to make someone else look 'bad' to make yourself feel good about yourself.

And i for one, am not some driver who gets a hard-on when they pass another driver. I dont some some manly urge where i have to pass trucks whenever i can, or i dont feel like a truck driver. I have no ego to fulfill when i get behind the wheel. Its lame.....

Go ahead and run 68 in your LEASE truck, and continue to tell us you're an "owner/operator". But just know i'm laughing at you inside. You drive 68......but scratch your head as to why you dont get over 7mpg (unless you ONLY pull 20k loads or less).

you know...it is funny how many jump into swift lease trucks just to have something to pound their chest about. Who cares if you're a sucker leasing a truck, just so you can stick your chest out, and hold your head c0cked back with your nose up and get to say "i'm an Owner/Operator" when actually, you aren't. .92cpm...cut off .05cpm off the top if you're a trainer. another .09cpm for miles over 11k. you have to clear $900/wk to break even. Buddy of mine who is leasing a new porn star, is barely making $450 after the 'overhead' running 2500mi a week. Use to train but got tired of all the rejects they'd put on his truck. 2500....i make $300 more than him...and thats take home...after taxes and insurance. his $450 is before taxes and insureance....so leasing a truck, and you make $300 a week? for what.....just to be able to sound like you're more important than pee-on company drivers?? LOL....i'll enjoy my extra few hundred a week in my pocket while being a pee-on.

I'll agree, you're not just saying that because you're a disgruntled driver.....you're saying it because you were foolish enough to get into a lease, lost your $2500 down payment, $1000 performance bond, and still payed the overhead for a week or two following turning the truck back, while the company took their time looking for someone else to lease the same truck. You're saying that because........simply.........you couldn't hack it.

This type of attitude is what has made Swift look as bad as it has....

    Good luck with that....

Unfortunately, simply because I have 3 years listed as experience, some people make assumptions regarding what I have done before. I have ten years previous experience cleaning up wrecks caused by stupid maneuvers performed by two-year rookies. When you candrive a 3,000 gallon unbaffled water tender up a single-lane gravel logging road with little pullouts for opposing traffic without going off the sheer cliff either way and get the water to the fire scene while it is still useful, then you can judge what my experience level is.

Instead, you give advice to new drivers that will either get them in trouble or get someone killed. You cannot convince me you have total control over your vehicle if you are allowing it to float down a hill over the governed speed. What you said above not only shows your lack of experience, it shows poor planning on your part. Swift's loads are set up so you can drive 55 everywhere, get in legal breaks and still get there on time. The only reason I can think of for you needing to do such an idiotic thing is you are an adrenaline junkie. If that's the case, get off the road and kill yourself skydiving or bungee jumping. There is no room on the road with me for an adrenaline junkie.

Regarding o/o. Too bad you haven't the slightest idea how to run a business. You are envious of those of us who can, so you call us names to make you feel better about yourself.

Chicago: That's the biggest pile of horses*** I've. Ever heard of.. scan your ticket so the rest of us can see it. If you don't have it to scan, you never got it, it doesn't exist and you are full of it. I have been through Chicago more times in two months than your entire two years. I lived in Michigan.

i could care less about what you or any other driver did prior to driving OTR. This isnt a contest, so i could care less about your resume. I've ran my numbers enough for 6 straight weeks, that i know i couldn't make enough money running .92cpm and paying a $500 weekly truck payment, not to mention the other crap they nickel and dime you to death for....to make any money. You can do it? great....you can do it by eating sticks and leftover fruit....thats fine. Whatever it takes, right? I just have a certain level of comforts i wont do without....like eating right...and not have to starve myself just to make ends meet.

as far as the ticket...i never said i got one. i'm saying, generally, you CAN get a ticket for running 55 in a 55 when the rest of the traffic is running 65, and you're actually IN THE WAY.

I could care less what you think of me. I drive my truck the way i drive my truck. I dont get log violations, i dont get speeding tickets, i dont run illegally after i run out of clock to drive. I'm not driving to impress you, or anybody else. I drive for ME....and ME alone. So i could care less what the driver next to me at the stop light thinks of me. I could care less someone in a truck stop runs flatbed, and makes $5 a mile. Really dont bother me. Much like trucks running in the 3rd lane (when the signs clearly say "trucks only right 2 lanes"...then every other driver saying "you better get out of that lane...you dont belong out there".....i could care less, and will never say anything about them driving out there. Why? cause it dont effect me. Now...someone driving stupid, and out of control, effects me. However....CONTROLING your roll down hill so you dont exceed 68...with your jake on...and IN GEAR....but yet somehow that is 'out of control? i really dont care.

Next thing you'll say is that I'm wrong for showing 15 minutes on duty after i've arrived at a shipper, then going to line 1 for 15 minutes, then go to L2 for the duration of my time at a shipper.cosignee being un/loaded. Again....i dont get log violations or tickets.....so i must be doing something right.

If driving at 68 was such an issue, Swift would have "dinged" me on it many many months ago. and for your info....loads are booked/planned at 50 mph....not 55. Why else do they instruct you to plan a 300 mi load for 6 hrs of driving.
